Well, now we've polluted all the waters with our need for electric, so no one should eat fish from our local rivers, streams or oceans. Fortunately there's farm raised fishes, including tilapia. Where I live in Illinois we will reduce mercury pollutants by 95% in 2 years. The rest of the states need to do the same. Good luck1

I don't want to eat any mercury. korangirl--you should do a little research on farm raised--it's not any better than mercury.

Sometimes its impossible to predict the future. Other times it comes right up and slaps you in the mouth.

Within the next couple hundred years people will be unable to eat ANYTHING not grown or raised in a controlled environment. It will be unthinkable to eat something you caught, trapped or killed in the wild.

Another reason to avoid tuna is the effects it has on the dolphin populations. And you can't even trust the "dolphin friendly" labels you see on some of the major canners.

I've read that the Japanese take whales for "scientific research". Of course, not an ounce of the whale flesh is wasted. I've heard that once they actually did do a small experiment. Probably involved "taste-testing".

Since mercury etc. seems to accumulate in the larger fish-eating marine animals I'm thinking that these whales must be loaded with mercury etc.
