The PC Rampage and its Consequences for Public Dialog »
Posted by: populist 2 years, 8 months agoI feel compelled to continue to plead for a dialog concerning illegal immigration that extends beyond the bombastic PC oratory that is projected, oftentimes, by members of American society that do not suffer from the economic impact that the constant influx of cheap labor manifests.

Feb. 22, 2007, 1:44 a.m.you protectionist, nationalistic idiots do not understand. peace and prosperity means those internationalists who want to survive, to be competitive, and to survive. you protectionist, nationalistic types are obsolete anyway. just keep paying your taxes to ensure the survival of the globalist, until.. they do not need you any longer. that day will be around 2015, when nanotechnology revolution takes over. you will be happy to know that the money you willingly gave to the politicians and globalists helped in your own demise... suckers :)

Feb. 22, 2007, 1:55 a.m.just count on your quality of life will probably go down more than 50% when the once US is completely over-runned by other other "nations",and of course there will not be a damned thing you can do about it, because the Constitution and Bill of Rights will be gone for ever. It was a nice "idea" while it lasted, right? Remember, the key word to peace and prosperity will be SLAVE LABOR, until the day they do not need you any longer. but, do not worry. It will happen soon by using every tax dollar you give to the politicians to make sure the globalist make it happen sooner rather than later.

Feb. 22, 2007, 12:28 p.m.I have commented on this before on other threads but my husband is one of those who has constantly( and consistantly) had problems finding (or keeping) a job because of illegal immigrants willing to work for little or nothing or ones who have managed to get very high paying jobs despite their lack of documentation. (And we live in the northeast...we even had the problem in northern VT) As the writer of the article mentions, this problem has a lot less to do with the illegals themselves than with the regulation. If we simply enforced existing laws and reinforced punishment of employers who abuse the system I think that the problem would be reduced exponentially. It wouldn't go away entirely but if the opportunities no longer exist illegals will no longer risk death and deportation for them. And that option doesn't even require any new laws just enforcement of current ones!

Feb. 23, 2007, 10:35 p.m.Oh yeah. I've been there ,lost jobs, got underbid on wages. Some of these guys are subsidized.[ride to work, get fed, ride home].How can you compete with someone who does't have to pay transportation costs and is getting a free lunch? The wife and kid(s) get free medical so there are no insurance payments, and because of the kid(s) there is access to food. GLOBALWARMER READ THIS POST and you will know where I'm coming from, and many others... This leaves us no time or money or both to get organized enough to do something about it.
