Feb. 22, 2007, 2:32 a.m.The downside of the 24-7 news cycle is that some stories just slip through the cracks.

Feb. 22, 2007, 8:17 a.m.I noticed that this week other than for Larry King, CNN has reduced drastically its coverage on its primary channel CNN/US. Headline News and Fox News is pretty much going wall to wall with the court preceding. Nancy Grace and Greta are pretty much talking about it non stop in primetime. Not so sure what MSNBC is doing. I am sure Rita Cosby is in there somewhere.

Feb. 22, 2007, 9:32 a.m.At the end of the day, the news is no longer a medium to report the facts of the day. Ratings drive the value of the advertising minutes and some stories just don't get the job done. We live in a society that is fascinated by the failure or humanism of others. I would like to see the media attach some meaningful content to direct their viewers to assistance. These stories have to ring some bells. Why produce the content with out using the lessons learned to make a difference in some viewers life?

Feb. 22, 2007, 9:50 a.m.This media watch dog group must be crazy. I personally believe this unimportant stuff should be removed from the nerwork. Who cares where they bury her. Are these vultures after the baby or the money. It seems to me that it wouldn't take too much smarts to see whats happening. This has already got sickening.

Feb. 22, 2007, 10:25 a.m.I was appalled by the indifference of the news networks. How dare they spend ANY time covering anything other than the vitally important events surrounding Anna Nicole's slow decomposition while Judge Larry Seidlin showboats in front of the TV cameras in his courtroom. ;~D

Feb. 22, 2007, 10:35 a.m.Yeah. This is terrible. Without wall to wall coverage of this story, we might have to face reality. And surely we wouldn't want to know about soldiers dying in Iraq or people being slaughtered in Darfur or torture in Gitmo. That would be such a downer. We could maybe focus on New Orleans and the Mardi Gras and how the city is coming back and the government has been keeping its promises to those people. We wouldn't want that now would we. Yes, let's keep it Anna Nicole 24/7.

Feb. 22, 2007, 10:48 a.m.That watch dog group must have too much spare time n their hands. I think the coverage is being overdone. I'm sick of it already and think the people involved are nothing more than diaper stains.

Feb. 22, 2007, 11:24 a.m.Wow! Thanks ind06! I wouldn't have known about her death if not for this story! LOL!! Anna Nicole, 24/7,365! It is crazy how these networks grab ahold of stories such as these and jst go wild! Remember the "run-away bride"? Same thing, 24/7. News isn't news anymore, it's entertainment.

Feb. 22, 2007, 11:43 a.m.You have to be kidding, right. Why do you think you need to know every little detail about this tragic situation? I am actually embrassed by the show the judge here in Florida is putting on for his own gain. What he is doing has nothing to do with the case brought to court.

Feb. 22, 2007, 12:11 p.m.Hey, this is not about ms Smith dying it is about keeping the new media away from Iraq and the lousy job the sub idiot Bush is doing to America. The woman is dead folks and now everyone is scrambling for the baby's millions. The stage the judge is using is to promote himself into the limlight of TV and the Newspapers. The media watchdog group belong exactly where a watchdog belongs, in the dog house or where their interest is aimed, The White House. As for CNN, keep news focused where you have always been. On the real News not the crap that the bought networks run.

Feb. 22, 2007, 12:29 p.m.Well, I think it's better than the network shows for entertainment and I can't wait for the SNL version.
It's kind of like Boston Legal as a reality show.
Personally, I hope the Prince is the daddy; then we'll have his divorce from Zsa Zsa for a year or so and before we know it, the war will have been over, the pres. election will have been over and life will be good!

Feb. 22, 2007, 12:38 p.m.Maybe they could come up with a theme and put her at Disneyworld.
They could then move her back and forth between Florida and Disneyland from time to time; later, take her on the road every five years or so in a new low cut dress.

Feb. 22, 2007, 1:44 p.m.This is no different than the OJ or Blake trials, the runaway bride, or the astronut case that makes in the news until something else happens. It's all about what the people watch and the money that's made by advertisers. It was a funny story with tongue in cheek humor.

There's a difference between NEWS and gossip. Sorry, but Miss Smith was/always been GOSSIP.
