US Attorney fired by Bush was investigating massive Republican corruption »

As per Washington conventional wisdom we're now supposed to accept that the firing of seven US attorneys around the country was, yes, perhaps unprecedented, but more an example of Bush cronyism than an effort to short-circuit one or more investigations. But the firing of Lam just doesn't bear out that reading.

    anytime you hear someone claim we have a left-wing press, ask them why carol lam is not front page news.

        Lam prosecuted almost the entire San Diego city council and lost a lot of the cases and the rest were overturned by a judge.....she was very lax in prosecuting drug, gun and illegal alien smugglers and gangs.....we have even found hundreds of illegal aliens working at the Navy base and shipyards and as janitors in federal and state offices and she didn't even prosecute them or the shipyards or people in government who hired the illegals....all of which are much bigger problems in San Diego than some city council members hanging out at a strip club......
