Feb. 26, 2007, 9:37 a.m.I agree people do not show down when the weather gets bad and drive as they are in a race. I was on a major highway last year and the snow started to fly. I ended up by slowing dow from 70 to 25 and running in 4wd. Many cars and suv were passing me and a few miles dowm the road I saw then in the ditch. And no I did not stop to help stupid. I got to my distanation a hour later. But I got there. Many "stupids" had to have ther suv's pulled from the ditch. Snow doesnot cause problems in driving. One needs to slow down and drive at a speed in bad conditions. I have been driving for 40 years in the snow and never been in a wreack.

STONERS
Feb. 26, 2007, 11:20 a.m.In some cases these are true. They are drivers that get out there and drive crazy.I too have a four wheel drive and it slides off the road just as easy as anything else.Even though they may be stupid drivers I WILL stop to see if they need help just for the fact that they may be SMALL KIDS in the car. That had no control over the driving. They cant last to long in these winter storms.I sure hope that if I slide off the road somebody will stop and help me.

Feb. 26, 2007, 2:12 p.m.Well I think you are off your mark a bit here..many areas of the country are expeirencing extremes in weather...I for one have not seen sub zero temps like we have now for many years...I seriously doubt that the oil company can lower our temps to below zero and keep them there for weeks at a time

Feb. 26, 2007, 2:54 p.m.You are a real prize..you post an underground weather site as a source of technical information...the articles in the site are signed "ricky" now there is a source I would count on.

Feb. 26, 2007, 5:12 p.m.I always wonder how we calculate "global average temperature." Do we pick say 80 places and average the highs and lows for the year? Or do we take continuous temperatures at the same points and average them? If so, how do we know we have the "right" points and we're not just observing local phenomena? I see the number bandied about constantly, and it cannot be an easy one to come up with. Who makes the rules on how the average is defined? More to the point, different "rules" may result in a different average.

Feb. 26, 2007, 1:30 p.m.I tend to agree with several points here..Every year I see people that seem to completely forget how to drive in bad weather. There are two words that cover most accidents in bad weather.."rude and stupid". There are of course a small number of deaths that can not be avoided..

Feb. 26, 2007, 1:32 p.m.The winter storms this year are a vast right wing conspiracy to discredit Al Bore and "An Inconvienent Truth"

Feb. 26, 2007, 2:30 p.m.I knew when I was clicking on this story, that people would be on here stating that a winter storm proves global warming is a myth. If you actually did any research on global warming and climate change, you wouldn't be posting such an asinine argument...

Feb. 26, 2007, 4:51 p.m.good old fashion late winter / early springtime blizzard.
too bad I do not go to school so I could get a snowday off. nothing new here differing from my childhood. except mabey the increased speed of cars and more airplanes and more heliocopters to get bales of hay to stranded cattle on the plains.
snow-angle time

Feb. 26, 2007, 5:42 p.m.Yeah, we probably remember the same storms. Of course, though I don't know the reason, eight inches of snow seems worse when you're young than it does when you're older. A matter of perspective, I guess.

Feb. 26, 2007, 11:23 p.m.It appears to me, the general public needs a crash course in global warming. It really isn't difficult to follow or understand. Most of the poster's here, really have no clue what it's all about. Please take some time to do a little research on the topic, our planet and future generations are depending on us. If it's not already too late. (which I believe it is)

March 2, 2007, 3:42 a.m.Darn this weather. It's been unbareable for one, not to mention all the snow continued to pour down at random times.
