March 2, 2007, 7:54 a.m.Wow...if you live near I-75 near downtown Atlanta this is not good. According to the AJC, the freeway will be closed all day long. Guess I will be looking for another route today.

March 2, 2007, 8:45 a.m.It's bad enough that traffic is always a mess down here on 75 every Friday. And now this.

March 2, 2007, 9:25 a.m.A similar thing happened in Corning NY not too long ago.
A Tractor Trailer fell off the overpass (which was under construction) and landed on a full minivan. I think just the truck driver died, the van was thrown from the highway into a small pond.
The minivan drivers are suing the ??town?? and tractor trailer company.
The say that the overpass wasn't safe.

March 2, 2007, 12:57 p.m.I was just watching CNN. They said he may have mistook a "HOV" lane (exit) for the interstate and didn't realize it until he hit the traffic lights at the top of the exit, then tried to make a hard right...hitting the barrier and tumbling back onto the interstate below.
so tragic, these poor kids and their families (as well as the driver and his wife who were killed)

March 2, 2007, 4:09 p.m.I live less than an hour north of the village where the university is located, and have been there many times.
The school is affiliated with the Mennonite Church, and the entire town goes all out during the winter holidays to the point it's called "The Blaze of Lights"! Some residents even have computer-controlled displays with extreme low power FM transmitters broadcasting narration.

March 2, 2007, 5:22 p.m.Wow, this story is so extremely sad. The baseball team from our college is traveling down there to play in the tournament these guys were going to. My prayers are with the team and families of those who lost someone. I'm so sorry.

March 3, 2007, 1:50 a.m.And yet administrators of our educational system will not equip buses with seat belts until it is mandated!

March 3, 2007, 8:50 a.m.There should a seat belt in every seat on every bus, just like we have to wear them in cars. Anyone know if there is a reason for not having them there?

March 3, 2007, 11:46 a.m.You people worry too much. All along the highways are burnt cars and accidents that are not important enough to make the news.
If the man had 2 eyes he would have seen the barrier unless something was in front of him. When people are not sure they should generally slow down.
But I have seen them re-arrange highways just because of accidents.
Maybe the highway deptartment will supply drivers to help people navigate the highway.
Some people should just stay home and not drive. Older people do not remember things unless they do them often. This person was not experienced enough.
