If it were built, the road would be one of the engineering wonders of the 21st century -a trade route a quarter of a mile wide, carving a path from Mexico through the heart of America to Canada.

Anybody who has been following the news should have at least a clue that our government is trying very hard to sell our country to the highest bidders and give our jobs to the people that they can exploit and pay the lowest wages. None of this is new NEWS. Republicans are controlled by "Big Business" and Democrats are afraid of not getting elected therefore they pander to illegals in hopes of getting their votes. We desperately need a third party that will listen to the American people.

Not only will the first "Customs check" be done in Kansas, where a new "port" will be built, but the checking will be done by Mexican customs and immigration officers.

"Once complete, the new road will allow containers from the Far East to enter the United States through the Mexican port of Lazaro Cardenas, bypassing the Longshoreman's Union in the process. The Mexican trucks, without the involvement of the Teamsters Union, will drive on what will be the nation's most modern highway straight into the heart of America. The Mexican trucks will cross border in FAST lanes, checked only electronically by the new "SENTRI" system. The first customs stop will be a Mexican customs office in Kansas City, their new Smart Port complex, a facility being built for Mexico at a cost of $3 million to the U.S. taxpayers in Kansas City."

The superhighway is the least of the problems. The "free trade agreements" such as NAFTA, CAFTA, etc subordinate national laws to the terms of the agreements. Under the NAU, which really is the manifestation of NAFTA, we will have a currency in common with Canada and Mexico, and we will have a whole body of regulation controlling us which was not voted on by us or enacted by our elected officials. It is an end run around both democracy and national sovereignty.
