DJ suspended over racist Obama remark »

A Texas DJ was suspended & the NAACP plans to file a complaint over a racist remark on the air about Obama. Sam Allred and his co-host joked Thurs morning about the comment by Sen. Biden that one of Obama's political attributes is that he is "clean." Cole said Biden had described Obama as clean & Allred said "clean darky"

This is sooooooo stupid. So he made a verbal mistake, so he used the word "darkie". First amendment says free speech, it doesn't say non offensive speech!
I don't feel he used common sense, but sense when is that a requirement!

it depends on the context...if he was trying to show how ignorant biden's statement was and by doing so he made an exageration, I think it's fine, speech and it's meanings depends on 2 things: 1. context and 2. Intent...if that guy called someone "darkie" to purposely offend him that would be improper, however if he was doing a comedy bit and was lampooning Biden and saying "yeah this guys a clean darkie"...it's different, he would be making fun of Biden's insensitivity... it's a different intent...people are too sensitive these days, I don't tolerate hate, I don't hate anyone and would never use that language, but like I said if I was making fun of a "racist person" I might tell a joke and say something racist or prejudice but im really trying to make fun of and point out another person's ignorance. CONTEXT-INTENT

Another instance of forgetting about the real problems and issues by spending an inordinate time on semantics. Will anyone vote or not vote for him because this was said? Drop it and move on to more productive endeavers.

Just goes to show that the tail is still wagging the dog. The NAALCP (should it not be NAALPC, since "Colored People" is not PC----it should be "National Association for the Advancement of Liberal People of Color") thinks it runs the country, and the legal establishment bends over to kiss the NAALCP's hind parts.
