March 5, 2007, 2:34 p.m.This article doesn't take shots at the show so I will. Did you notice the poor portrays of events in Jesus' life? For a program that sought to establish scientific credibility, it did a terrible job of portraying established biblical events. For example, Jesus runs into the crowd that is stoning the woman and everyone scatters. The Bible tells that Jesus shamed the crowed into sparing the woman and that he then rebuked the woman. Another glaring example would be the scene with Jesus on the cross, supposedly speaking to his son. The gospel of John mentions the "disciple whom he loved" which many scholars believe is John himself. This may have been how John did. I believe this may have been due to writing styles at the time. None of the Gospel writers refer to themselves outright, and John may have felt uncomfortable with it as well and so chose those words.

March 5, 2007, 2:42 p.m.Also, one of the scholars mentioned that Christ going to heaven may have meant that he just died, leaving his remains on earth. But the Scriptures clearly speak about the angels who explain that "as he has left, he will return" while the disciples looked into the skies. The pursuit of this story by persons unfamiliar with the Scriptures is a mistake. It makes the story come off as a hit piece.
