March 6, 2007, 10:47 a.m."this is the 40th anniversary of the historic march on the Pentagon against the Vietnam War, a tipping point for what became a powerful anti-war movement."
I think that is really interesting, I hope they have a successful protest march. I wonder if they will call out the National Guard?

March 6, 2007, 11:41 a.m.I can not understand for the life me why bush is consistent about keeping this war going. To Bush we are only people and we have no say. Unless we had more money. The time for the old saying about money doing the talking needs to come to an end. We need to show that we are going to take back our country, other wise as time goes on it will just get worse. Bush is not just taking the lives of our young men in service, he is starving Americans of lively hoods. In South Carolina, the Autistic kids are loosing their medical help. There are certain degrees for autism, some of those children will never be able to live on their own. Their parents will have to provide constant surveillance for them. This is just a tip of the iceberg of what he has upset with his greedy plans. He said during his first campaign that you are looking at one of the next world leaders, It looked to me that he meant The next world leader period.

March 6, 2007, 12:23 p.m.There is a march planned here in Austin Texas for March 17. I will be attending. I have also contacted every member of Congress. All 535 of them. I asked for impeachment of both Bush and Cheney. I pointed out that all members of Congress took an oath to protect and defend our Constitution from both foreign and domestic threat. This administration is a domestic threat to our constitution.
I am so outraged that this has continued and the Democrats are now busy proving not only how spineless they are, but also how their re-election campaign coffers are far more important to them than any thing like integrity, the Constitution or the PEOPLE who pay their salaries.

March 6, 2007, 12:40 p.m.One of the biggest lies recently told was by Harry Reid in characterizing the new legislation on lobbying. He said it is the most drastic reform of lobbying in history.
Lobbying reform is nothing more than fluff. To regain our government, lobbying must be completely eliminated. ANYTHING that usurps fair representation from the people must be considered an unacceptable danger to our constitutional government.
Our lawmakers expend much more effort in satisfing their bosses on "K" Street than representing their constituents.
This must be abolished, if we are ever to expect real progress in restoring democracy to this government that was originally created to represent the people.
"Our" representatives exploit the people for elections and then legislate to satisfy the lobbyists who pay for their campaigns. Political careers and lobbyists have nothing to do with governing this country according to the dictates of the constitution and the Bill of Rights.

March 6, 2007, 4:19 p.m.Who can even keep up with each new Goal Of The Day this president claims to have in Iraq? I'm exhausted from trying to follow the bouncing ball as he careens from one rationale to the next.
Also from the article, he has caused half of the world to hate us and we are in debt to the other half.
Where is the Impeachment!!
Gotta say i completely agree with the everything she said!

March 7, 2007, 1:21 a.m.I feel the disgust of this author for Bush's disastrous war. But war is sort of like golf. Your tee shot may be a total disaster, but you have to play the ball where it lies.
I do not believe the neo-con litany that withdrawal will result in world meltdown. They have made so many pronouncements about this war. Every one has been totally wrong. What possible credibility do they still posses?
Still, we need to think through an exit strategy. What can be gained through diplomacy with Iraq's neighbors -- Yes, including Iran and Syria? Nobody in the region will really profit from a failed state. What role will al Queda in Iraq have if we withdraw, and how can we best deploy over the horizon to make sure they don't profit from the chaos? Can we set a timetable with the Sunnis and Shia and help them both to realize that they must either reach a political accord or face a protracted civil war that may well drag neighbors in and strip them of any autonomy?

March 7, 2007, 4:56 a.m.Not sure how u figure there is not enough jobs. Anybody that wants to work right now can get a job. I mannage a car wash and talk to bussines owners all the time. Everybody needs help. Problem is there is not enough qualified help out there. I get 1 application out of 50 that knows how to dress when applying for a job. You libbereals spout off trash talk after trash talk. Bottom line if u guys would look in the mirror yall would see your democratic goverment has brought us to this point over the last 40 plus years. I dont agree with the far right either but being 40 years old and a poor white american, from what i have seen in my days of politics the libereals have brought this country to the brink of distruction!!!!!

March 7, 2007, 4:51 a.m.WOW, this is some of the best comments I have ever seen on netscape.
Lobbying should be comepletely illegal.
The person mentioning people that are unfit having children is another great point.
Sound of Reasons post pretty much was right on target.
Another thing I was thinking about the other day was the electoral voting for the presidency. I feel it should go by popular vote not electoral.
As long as there is lobbying ect. involved in the government can we really trust whoever is in office? Of course it would be almost impossible to manage. But atleast it should slow it down a bit if deemed illegal.
We definitely need to get the jobs back in the country and really that would probably be the easiest thing to do out of all the topics listed. Just buy products made in America. Weather they are American corporations or not. Forget the Big three automobiles unless its coming from a U.S. assembly plant, Go with the Camry.
We need to start thinking about bettering the U.S. first

March 7, 2007, 5:05 a.m.Reason Its done by electoral college votes is so 2 states dont have the power to elect a president but takes the country as a whole. I might be mistaken but i think that bush was elected by 65 percent of the states. Only reason he was behind in popular vote was that New York and California are so populated with libereals that they made up the diffrence in poppular vote. meaning that if popular vote was the case 2 states would have the power to elect a president instead of 50 states. Not exactly the way our republic was set up. You guys have got power now, which yall have had most of the last 40 years. And just like the last 40 years the dems will do nothing but blame republicans for the mess were in.

March 7, 2007, 5:19 a.m.Logic takes hold. The Wisdom that dies away with our seniors we need most. We can't continue to allow our lively Hoods to be striped away. Every time I buy a pair of blue jeans they sag. Even when I go to these more expensive store, I find the same materials. I'm tired of being ripped off. Time to turn the tables.

March 7, 2007, 8:27 a.m.Should have done some shock and awe in the streets of Iraq years ago and maybe this horrible mess would be over by now. And when I say in the streets, I do not mean at the expense and lives of innocents.
