300: Go. Go Now! »

The heightened visual sense of 300, the constant breaking into slow motion to watch blood and body parts fly, the use of peudo-metal music on the soundtrack may mean that this is not your grandpa's B.C. swordfight film. But you weren't up to see a film your grandpa loved anyway...

I'm usually against flooding the system with the same stories over and over(Anna Nicole Libby anyone?), but this one is by one of our own :-D

Saw the prescreening- was a pretty good movie- better than some- lots of blood and guts- heads, limbs flying all over the place, but I guess that is why "300" was written in blood...lol

Being a huge ancient history buff I was really afriad id leave the movie really ******ed off or disappointed due to ruining the great story of that Spartan battle. But as long as you walk into that theater with the mind set that this IS a movie based on a comic based on history (not ment to be completely historically accurate) then youll have no problems with it. Its a EXCELLENT action movie that evokes emotion all ranging from anger, joy to complete sadness.

I give it a 9.5 outta 10 (i took .5 off because even though i know its base on a comic, i still couldnt get my mind off a scene where gun powder was used lol)

Well I'm 38 and I saw the movie and I have to say it rocked the house. It's right up there with V for Vendetta in terms of well applied hollywood thematics to a graphic novel. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it, if you like all the stop action slow mo bloody hits and awesome CG graphics.

Excellent Movie! What's fascinating is how much the movie reminded me of the realities of the present. A thriving Democracy wishing to live in peace, threatened by a army of maruading Persians and middle eastern zealots (modern day Iran). While the patriots and heros of the society recognize the threat and risk all to defend their families, country, and democracy, the liberal politicians are at home either to cowardly or to corrupt to take action. Was it just me or did those sniveling cowards remind anyone else of the modern liberals in America? The message of sacrifice is overdue, to all the brave warriors who continue to this day to save the rest of us from barbarism.
