March 11, 2007, 1:37 p.m."I need to make clear that this is not justification for the danger I put Ryan Hollweg in and the damage I have caused the game," Simon said in the statement. "Since Ryan is thankfully OK, what hurts the most is knowing my actions will result in me losing the privilege of being in the Islanders lineup."
What ought to hurt most is that he could have nearly killed someone.

March 11, 2007, 6:29 p.m.You got that right pagey, Simon has always been a goon. But I think 25 games is not enough. Simon is a repeat offender for this type of conduct. This now makes 3 times for this guy. After the Bertuzzi incendint, the fans are tired of this. And I think Mike Heika from the Dallas Morning News(Snooze) said during Razor's Open Net Report. He should have gotten 50.

March 11, 2007, 6:30 p.m.Suspend him for the rest of his life! The same goes for all sports. Get rid of the thugs and drug addicts. As fans we should not have to put up with this. Pete Rose was suspended for life for gambling which hurt no one physically. Now there are football players kicking another player in the face while he is on the ground. More and more you are hearing about athletes getting into trouble with the law or hopped up on drugs including steroids. Here in Green Bay the Packers are considering bringing in Randy Moss even though a majority of the fans don't want him here. If they bring him in I will not support them again.

March 12, 2007, 8:04 a.m.Oh Jump all over the guy for making one mistake in the heat of a very physical game, yes he deserved to be suspended, but I guarantee you this if you ask the other player if he should charged with assault he would say no.
Look at all the wonderful role models in the NBA! or the Cleveland Browns football team a loaded with felons! Great role models eh!
How many times have you seen a guy throw a 90 mile an hour pitch at a guys head intentionally I might ad, when he does connect and it has happened a bench clearing brawl ensues.
Baseball can be violent too. You know what I cant stand knowing that steroid induced Barry Bonds will be allowed to break Hank Arrons record its just not right.

March 12, 2007, 11:05 a.m.this guy should be banned from sports entirely. No wheaties boxes no commentary no magazine writer spots for him nothing. If I took a stick and smashed someone in the throat I would be charged with ADW agravated assault attempted murder etc. Screw this guy he's a danger not an athlete
