It's called a "tilted interpretation," one can take any text and derive any sort of meaning out of it, such as I am supposed to be kind to others or I should kill all people who do not share my similar "tilted interpretation," in this case. This has been going on for as long as there is text to take meaning from, we could cite the Spanish inquisition, witch burnings, anti-semitism, anything. This is not a uniquely Muslim phenomena but rather as of right now our eyes and ears are focused on a current tragedy and our first impulse is to condemn rather then question and group the whole religion of Islam under the small banner of a group who does not speak for the whole.

I cite a simple fact that if Islam was such a "destructive religion" it would have killed itself and never have gotten off the ground and we would have never had heard of it.

Al Sadr and the Shia's are laying low while the SURGE is starting. They lay low desiring the U.S. to concentrate on the Sunni insurgent. But guess what folks the Sunni's are not stupid. They will do exactly what they need to, as they did before, instigate sectarian violence. The shia's will eventually have to respond so their goes your so called SURGE.

Hello Georgie has the surge began yet?

And these are America's finest leaders, Yeah right.

We have to remember that no one individual or group of individuals speak for the whole and our ability to question is what sets us apart from those who commit atrocities.

sniper91, you're lucky you were born in this century. Your selective interpretation of the facts don't include history in it. If it did it would include the "convert or kill non-Christians" that occured in Medieval times and even today. Or the catholic canon law that allowed Catholics to kill Protestants, since they were seen as heretics. Recall how Catholics have killed Jews, Muslims, Protestants..? nd vice-versa? Now I have no problem with Catholics but you're the one placing them on a pedestal stating "not even the catholics are that mean.!" Did you skip history class or something?

Now I'll never blame the soldiers. They were deployed and are doing their jobs (and I won't let the few doing otherwise spoil my opinion of them all) but to make blanket statements that don't include a full view of history and facts is just based on emotion and bias. You cannot help it, you are one of the many living in America that have been conditioned to think they're superior.

Ohhh and I shouldn't have to say it... but I guess you don't know- Not all Muslims are like the examples that are used in the bombings, etc. I know it's hard to imagine but you could be living next to some that look just like you and me. Heaven forbid. LMFAO

Remember the OK city, Timothy McVeigh who was raised a devout Roman Catholic? So what was it you were saying about how mean or nice Catholics are, sniper?
