March 13, 2007, 7:33 a.m.As an old citizen of the USA...In my entire life, have not heard one disparaging word about austrailia..from our gov, or any of our people..Why would you say we treat you badly??? Now, I ask you--can you say the same as I did??? That none of your people, or gov. have ever said any thing negative about us??...personaally, I am happy to see two countrys help each other..On the other hand though, you have not stood up with us against terror..We are alone in Iraq..and we are killing many people who might have some day had your country in thier sights..sorry you feel slighted..but after Bosia, Afganistan, and keeping police in korea, germany, Egypt, for many many years, we may just be spread a little thin, care to help?? Other wise, be prepared to bow to Allah..

March 13, 2007, 7:41 a.m.Well sixshot you're right about the adf being one of the best. However, you missed the mark on relations between the US and Australia. I don't know if the policy is still in effect at this time but for many years the Australian govt. would not allow US Navy ships bearing nuclear weapons to enter their ports. Since the US would not confirm which ships carried such weapons the fleet stayed away. I want to tell ya that this caused more than a few hard feelings. Now you say because we don't exactly jump at the opportunity to share some of our best technology with you that we treat you like the enemy. Shame on you. The deal between the Australians and the Japanese is a good one and will undoubtably strengthen security in that region. Leave it at that.

This is not Australia and Japan moving away from the US.
On the contrary.
Both are US deputies.
Just two American brown-nosers doggy sniffing each other.
Yawn.

March 13, 2007, 9:26 a.m.Let's see, memory serving, I don't think the Aussies or Japan had anything to do w/ 9/11. " Remember Pearl Harbor "? Uh, remember the natives who were here before us, and what we did to them would be more like it.
Times change, attitudes change, people change. And if forgiveness isn't in your ability to do, how about all the many times in your life you have had to say " I'm sorry, I made a mistake ". Maybe I better clarify that. IF you have ever said I'm sorry, or I apologize.
"Just two American brown-nosers doggy sniffing each other".
I've never been to either country, but I'd say it's safe to say the Aussies would refer to that remark as " sheep dip ".

In Australia, 'liberal' is not a dirty word.
It's the name of the American butt-kissing, conservative, right wing, political party currently in power.
The leader of the 'Liberal' Party is also the Prime Minister of Australia. His name is John Howard.
He's the one the then Republican led US Congress gave a standing ovation for because he was prepared to go down on his knees and swallow whatever Bush dished out.
He's also the white guy in the picture for this story.
Hope that helps clear up a little of the fog you live in.
The media, however, is mostly Murdoch owned.
Much like yours.

March 13, 2007, 9:33 a.m.Whatever. It's called sarcasm. I guess it flew right over your head. That's another quaint Aussie expression for "a bit thick." In case you hadn't noticed, the white guys are the ones you Yanks try to avoid killing. The rest are fair game.

March 13, 2007, 9:40 a.m.Thanks SkeeK I agree!!!
Japan's history still haunts them 60 yrs after, give me a break. If that is the case then our history should haunt us for over 200 for the crimes we committed taking over this land over time! Cant we do the same with Germany, Japan, England, France, and Spain. History is to LEARN from not to dictate the future. The Aussie's have been good for us for many, many years. They have had our backs and helped as much as they can though it is hard to find from most of our media throughout history. As far as the Japanesse, in the past, they believed with faith that their govt was doing the right thing. Can we blame them for having faith until the faith was used wrong. They are good people as general and probally better in moral field than us as well. Yes I am a HARD WORKING, American born, Conservative that cant understand problems is. To the Aussies, Thank You so very much for all your help with our ordeals and the worlds. To the Japanesse, I forgive all

I have many good Japanese friends and live in Asia, (raven818's jaw hits the floor), but I'm not about to forgive and forget. My mother spent three years in her early 20's in a Japanese POW camp. Japan needs to do a lot more than just re-write history and pretend it never happened. What they did throughout Asia are the worst nightmares dreamt up in Hell.
Australia, on the other hand, is spineless. Cannon fodder for empires. First the Brits, then the Yanks. Such is the price you pay when you're a nation without chutzpah. It would do well to tell America find another putz and to remove the Union Jack from the flag.
