The bus driver apparently mistook one of the Atlanta-area commuter-lane exit ramps for a lane, officials said. The bus crossed through a T-intersection at the top of the ramp and careered over the retaining wall of the overpass to the interstate, 30 feet below. The driver and his wife died in the March 2 crash.

I had heard that there were a lot of accidents at that site.

It makes me angy that they wait until some one dies or a very serious accident before they make changes.

I've wondered if others have made this same mistake only to realize in time that they had made one. I have also wondered if being tired and/or sleepy could have been a factor in this accident. Whatever the cause, it was a horrible tragedy and I am sorry things like this happen.

I'm confused at why that would be their priority to fix. I'd heard that he mistook an exit ramp for a lane, but from the video of the accident, the problem seemed to be more the low wall of the overpass. Couldn't believe how easily it just fell over that wall.

At such high speeds those small walls dont really do that much.

I take it you too are from Atlanta. The other fatal crashes came from people trying to use the hov on ramp to 75 north, and turning down the wrong side of the wall, onto 75 south. It really is a bad intersection though.
