There is little doubt that technology has marched a long way in the last 15 years. Think of the size of your cell phone, speed of your computer, the kind of camera you had; now realize that all of these items can be had in a single, credit card-sized device.

    Honestly, it's embarrassing how US autos have failed to advance in terms of MPG. Look at Europe and you know it's possible ... but they have more incentive in terms of high fuel taxes than us.
