March 16, 2007, 11:25 a.m.Fact: Plame was covert. She's said it now, under oath. Will the deniers keep denying? Probably. They are hypnotized by Rush and the False Noise Channel. Fox's spin on this should be interesting and amusing.

March 16, 2007, 11:35 a.m.From the article:
"During its coverage of the hearing, Fox News Channel cut down the sound to feature commentary by Novak who labeled Plame's contention that she was a 'covert operator' as 'absurd.' Novak also brought up Plame's political contributions to the Democratic Party, to imply that she was partisan."
I know it's annoying to repeat quotes from the article in a comment, but I REALLY wanted to make sure everyone out here watching catches that one.
Fox News couldn't wait until a break in the testimony to add their commentary? Are we still going to hear how "fair and balanced" and unbiased they are?
And honestly, there are others who say that even if she was covert, the info was "common knowledge." But it STILL hadn't been publicized in a national newspaper. Even aside from whether Plame was covert, exposing her cover endangered other covert operatives. Why is Novak still not behind bars for TREASON?

Isn't that just like Fox??!! If she weren't covert, it would be simple enough to prove, or it seems to me that it would.
Maybe it'a all about about her partisanship that got this to where it is today, i put nothing past these demons!

March 16, 2007, 11:52 a.m.DR, Beau7890 and scribllerus1:
It's to deny that which you do not or aren't willing to understand. Most of don't understand how undercover agents and spying has changed to keep up with the times.
I agree with the statement "why has no one been tried for exposing undercover agents?" It was not just her life in danger but the lives of the other operatives she was working with.
Quick and easy way to get up with how spying has changed go to the Spy Museums website: http://www.spymuseum.org
Even better if you get a chance to visit it do it. I've been there and you learn about the history of spying and how it has had to change.

Enough said under oath, now impeach the jerks.

March 16, 2007, 12:05 p.m.Yes! Now all the covert officer denial is nailed in the coffin and buried. No more dittohead denials. Take that in your pipe and smoke it. I had to listen to these denials for too long from conservatives. I really should get quite a few apologies from people that argued with me over this. I won't hold my breath, because they have to wait for the next comment from Limbaugh to make their arguement. Thanks for the story Ray, this really made my day.

March 16, 2007, 12:08 p.m.What more scandals we need in order to impeach W? CLinton's only reason was a relatively harmless affair with Monica. If we are to be fair, Bush, Cheney and their cronies must be impeached!

March 16, 2007, 12:24 p.m.In an illustration of the political sensitivities involved in the appointment of a federal prosecutor, former Sen. Peter Fitzgerald (R-Ill.) said Tuesday that White House political advisor Karl Rove told him in the spring of 2001 that he should limit his choice for U.S. attorney in Chicago to someone from Illinois.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi
The idea was to put an attorney who would be soft on the investigation. Now we know what Rove's big surprise was; to stack the judicial system with judges that were favorable to the administration. They thought they had the election sewn up. So all they had left was the judicial. This is a scandal that makes watergate look like jaywalking. It is an outright attempted coup of the U.S. government. Impeach at all costs!

March 16, 2007, 12:38 p.m.Yes, under oath. That really says it all, doesn't it? She has done what the President and the Vice-President didn't have the, um, well, you know, stones to do. She knows that perjury is the crime de jour so she will not perjure herself. It is too high profile. Doom on you, Administration.
I've said it before and now I'm going to shout it from the mountaintops...
UP THE REVOLUTION!!!!

March 16, 2007, 8:49 p.m.My question is why did she wait til now to tell the world what we all knew? Why the delay? I can't believe there weren't headlines months ago. Did anyone happen to catch the gal in the back of the room in pink? Also ---this is the find of the day death.

March 16, 2007, 9:45 p.m.I am not sure how to react to this. Since no one really knows what happened, why are we still being distracted by yet another smoke and mirrors event? Plame worked in plain view at Langley. Wilson was writing books, and listed his wife in his Who's Who entry. Maybe HE unwittingly "outed" her. Who knows? Who cares?

March 17, 2007, 2:29 a.m.Those unfair and unbalanced cable guys get 'er done when it comes to slandering true patriots. Mary Matelin will, hopwever, now have to get some new lying points when talking about this to Don Imus.
The lies perpetrated by the White House however were not for revenge. They were preemptive strikes on all CIA agents not to go to the American people with inconvenient truths that this maladministration, for its perverse policies, chooses to ignore.
Like the mob taking out the wife of a turn coat, it was telling folk like Joe Wilson, who they couldn't attack directly because he, as a diplomat (practically all of whom have protected CIA covert status) could not be outed without exposing a perverse practice of 50 years of spying.
So to this day, Joe Wilson's covert status has been maintained. Ms. Plame merely mentioned that he had previously been on several missions for the CIA. She didn't admit those were every diplomatic post he'd been at.

March 17, 2007, 5:54 a.m.When the Bush administration is criticized on Iraq, they say, patriotically, "We need to support our troops". What about: Support our CIA undercover agents?

March 17, 2007, 8:38 a.m.Still we see the idiots that to this day claim that Valerie Plame was not covert. Despite her testimony under oath, despite the notification from the CIA.
The entire sordid story indicates that we really need to impeach this bunch of bandits. And thereafter, we need to immediately improve our educational system and include remedial classes in critical thinking for all the adult dim wits out there who are still screaming that Valerie Plame was not a covert operative.
