So they'll be happy to answer questions...as long as there's no transcript and it's not under oath. That means they're willing, as long as they don't have to tell the truth or be held accountable for what they said later.

Well, it's not like Congress or the media has held this group of criminals accountable for anything over the last six years, so why start now?

This is an offer from the White House to the Congress. Nice offe, nice strings.

From another article posted elsewhere on Netscape "Such interviews would be private and conducted without the need for an oath, transcript, subsequent testimony or the subsequent issuance of subpoenas."

Where in the constitution does it say that congressional oversight of the executive branch is to be held in private, with no public record and no expectation of the truth.

What an arrogant and insulting offer. Then again in keeping with the the arrogant and insulting Bush administration.

Well, I guess it was this or hold up a big, neon sign saying "WE'RE HIDING SOMETHING" Though one could argue they've done precisely that anyway...

It wouldn't matter if he was under oath or not. Rove doesn't know what the word means.

zplan, i take major offense to a little-little man using an avatar such as that. your not worthy of the music of god (RUSH) your too stupid and i can prove it.

question: what the hell does KARL ROVE (EVIL GENIUS MASTERMIND AND SECOND IN COMMAND IN THE VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY) have too do with the dissmisal of eight u.s. attorneys that sucked at their jobs? answer: NOTHING.

except, that it is the fevered sexual fantasy of every liberal to get THE ARCHITECT in front of a senate panel under oath.

well guess what, it's not going to happen! HA!HA!HA!

hey libs, do you feel even more impotent than usual? i mean you controll congress right?! ha ha ha...

They will testify if subpoened, because it is a violation of LAW and of the CONSTITUTION to NOT do so, in spite of what Bush says (that he will 'fight' any subpoenas issued to his staff).

Go back and check the articles of impeachment for Richard Nixon.

ONE of those articles described the refusal of Nixon and his staff to abide by Congessional subpoenas, which the impeachment article noted was a "high crime or misdeameanor".

If Bush or his staff refuse to abide by subpoenas, they will be in breach of federal law and they will be violating the oath of office that they SWORE.
