Cloned Foods Not Safe, Group Says »
Posted by: STONERS 2 years, 7 months agoIn its report, the Center for Food Safety said the conclusions the Food and Drug Administration drew late last year were based on "scant data from few peer-reviewed studies" and failed to consider possible side effects of cloning.

March 21, 2007, 10:54 p.m."There isn't the science to show that these foods are safe," said Charles Margulis, a spokesman for the Washington-based center and author of the report. "I think the agency was heavily influenced by the biotechnology industry."

March 22, 2007, 4:34 p.m.Remember, the FDA said it was " virtually no difference " and not " no difference" which means there is some difference but just not exactly. Therefore, I do not want cloned anything.

March 22, 2007, 5:52 p.m.well, knowing that we eat cloned fruits and vegetables all the time, I still have to say I will reserve my decision on cloned animals until more tests are done.

March 22, 2007, 8:04 p.m.I had a friend who grew, let us say "plants."
By the seventh or eighth clone generation weird weaknesses began to occur.
It only takes one wrong molecule to really whack the system, where the body is not prepared for the new stuff.
Of course, right-handed and left-handed molecules come to mind, where the human body can only digest one and the other is lethal. That won't happen with cloned food but it doesn't take much genetic change to cause incompatilities that were ironed out in humans like 50,000 years ago.
Messing too much with nature seems to cause catastrophes.
