March 22, 2007, 3:41 p.m.This is probably the best course of actions for these boys.
There is no way they would get a fair trial in NY (or SF or Key West).

March 22, 2007, 4:29 p.m.Thanks invest07 for putting your homophobia and gaybashing 2 cents in on this story.
People like you are the reason that this sort of thing happens. If your ideas of hatred weren't prevalent, Kevin Aviance wouldn't have had to spend weeks recovering from this vicious beating.
I think the system finally worked although I would like to see them in prison longer. They ruined their own lives when they took it upon themselves to beat this man down for no reason at all other than their own selfish hatred of anyone different from them.

March 22, 2007, 6:12 p.m.I love the fact that invest07, in all his homophobic, gaybashing glory, has a Florida Gators logo for an avatar. Very appropriate.

March 22, 2007, 6:40 p.m.Lighten up a little. It's obviously a humorous statement. I'm sorry you didn't find it funny but that is your problem.
And you guys/gals would enjoy life a lot more if you got the chips off your shoulders.

March 22, 2007, 6:46 p.m.I've said it before and I will say it here again;
Some people will kick and scream and yell "That is so disgusting!!" when they see people who love each other show some affection (and argue what is acceptable affection that is allowed to be witness by their very fragile and delicate eyes!), but they are "A" okay with physical harm and hatred towards people - even encouraging their children to respond in the same way. What a &*#$ed up bunch of people. I'm sure their daddy's are so proud of their 'lil boys.

March 22, 2007, 8:09 p.m.Kevin was really brave in all of this. I was glad so many people supported him. He gives so many people self strength in their identity in who they are as a person as well as who they want to become.

March 22, 2007, 8:15 p.m.Fair trial...Gee was four against one "fair?"
Or did these "boys" have sexual urges for one another and had to express their self-loathing through violence on some poor gay dude.
Maybe they are just 4 creeps.

March 23, 2007, 12:18 a.m.Well, these guys got at least what they deserved. Wait, look, does everybody see that? It's, it's South Carolina taking the nation backwards fifty years by outlawing gay marriage.
I (almost) wish these guys hadn't plead guilty. They could have gotten 25 years.

March 23, 2007, 3:36 p.m.I just wanted to put this out there to show why the police need to be watched in how they deal with homosexuals and crime.
My boyfriend a few years ago was raped at gun point 3 times by a man in his 60's. Each time when the police were called, there was plenty of evidence, but the police did nothing and didn't even report it as a crime. "Silly faggot, you probably had a fight with your boyfriend and threw something through the window.
The third time the man broke in, he raped him and shot him in the face point blank and 3 times in the belly, leaving him for dead. He was in a coma for 1 year and lost his home, his family, and his lover of 9 years who let their estate lapse because the doctors all said he would never awaken.
The man who broke in and raped him and attempted to kill him recieved only 12 years probation and to have to pay reparations.
Thanks police. Thanks courts of law. Thanks bigots.

April 8, 2007, 9:39 p.m.There is one thing the gay community has to face. Victims of gay bashings receive little if any sympathy or attention in general. With very few exceptions these crimes are not talked about. Support is not available and the lack of these compounds the harm already caused.
