They are just mad because players are profiting by selling virtual items.

Id say they are mad for people who hack and exploit their game, despite the constant warnings not to do so.

They make it perfectly clear what is accepted and what isnt in the game. Its their game, and its their right to do so (think of it as a virtual "no shirt, no shoes, no service" policy).

I feel sorry for the person in the article - he was innocent. But he was affected by the rampant exploitation that happens in WoW. Im sorry he was caught up in it, but I am happy that Blizzard is taking agressive steps to put a stop to it.

This is nothing new. There are kids out there that thinks it funny or wonderful to hack into the games and spoil the game for the rest. And yet they always bring down someone who is totally innocent. Well it's sad but really until parents start learning how to control their kids before they do become hackers. Or this will just get worse. Remember there are dozen of hacker movies that give them encourgment to Hack The Planet.

In the end, it might be a good thing for the few who are banned. If they are hacking into the system, or going end a round the rules, then maybe this will be a wake up call to life and what you can and can't do. If you are cheating on a video game, you probably think it's OK to cheat elsewhere too.
