Why are all these Hondas being recalled? - Autoblog »

Posted by: pagey 2 years, 9 months ago

Not being mechanics, we've done our best to relay what the actual issue is that's prompted the recalls, but most articles we've found on the topic stop after mentioning something about the fuel pump and engines that won't start.

Hondas are actual cars after all, with things that go wrong.

If this were a Chevy issue, you'd have hoards of people going "oh, see, they're crap. i'm never buying this car again!"

This always happens when you ramp up that production line. Quality goes first when you want that quantity. I'm going to see if this recall is on the front page of the newspapers anytime soon. So far, their recalls have been hidden in the back part of the business section in a postage stamp sized article that the general public never sees. I know because I have them posted on a board at work next to the full page recall articles on GM, Ford and Daimler Chrysler's recalls. I wonder if anyone is going to bring a lawsuit against them?

I've noticed it also. Anytime one of the three has a recall it seems to make front page plus the evening news. However, when Honda, Toyota or Hyundai recall vehicles you hear very little from the media. Its interesting that our own media seems to be working against us. I just wonder how much money changes hands in order to downplay the stories......

The article says its source is Honda, so go figure. They are just trying to protect their image with articles like this.

You can say what you want about Honda but it's not going to change the fact that they have some of the best, most reliable and longest lasting cars on the road today. as far as recalls go they have about one tenth the recalls that american automakers have. but thats the problem, if more hondas are made in america there will be more recalls. most things american made are poor quality.

Minitruckintoy that is the perception the Japanese want. That they are superior to us. Were you not made in America? The recalls that Honda has were not necessarily the ones made here in the good ole USA. They sure love our poor quality money. I will give them this, they made the American automakers get their act together!

I don't know why many vehicles have the fuel pump inside the gas tank these days. Such a pain in the buttocks. And electricity is needed to run it. I'll take a mechanical camshaft- driven fuel pump instead.
