STONERS
March 28, 2007, 10:54 a.m.Some of the migrants swam from the boat to shore, while others jumped out onto the beach after the boat landed.
"The boat was unseaworthy and grossly overloaded,"

March 29, 2007, 2 a.m.Ludner Ermitus, 26, who said he helped sail the boat, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: "I know (the U.S.) is a big power. They help most countries in the world. I come to see what they can do for me."
Thats the problem in our world, everyone is always coming to the U.S. to see what we can do for them. Isn't it about time we did something for ourselves and our people. I believe in people trying to better themselves but when it's hurting my family and friends, (some of them can't get help and they've paid income taxes and some even fought in wars), then it's not fair. People should come to this country to try and find the American dream, but expect to pay for it just like the immigrants that came over in the 1920s. Its time we quit giving out free rides.

That's one more reason why they MUST go back, BAD ATTITUDE! Whatever happened to JFK's words;
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country!"
And beside, every time we cut up the pie, each of our own slices gets smaller and smaller, and I am tired of examining my piece with a microscope.

March 29, 2007, 10:14 a.m.It is understandable that these people were desperate for a better life and willing to risk it by coming to this country. However, like many illegal immigrants it costs the US dearly. For instance, the US has already provided the immigrants with hospital care, food, shelter and will continue to give it to them for free during the entire time they are under investigation. It is the US way to help and care for the people in need. Nevertheless, if this becomes and example where it shows that we will continue to take any immigrant and pay for any needs they have and then let them stay here, we can expect many more visitors.

March 29, 2007, 10:37 a.m.The US has a very bad habit of playing favorites or showing partiality, by favoring one people or nation over another (i.e., israel over Palestine,) which is a recipe for resentment and disaster, as any good parent knows. These people died because the US has a stupid, unfair, and juvenile immigration policy dating back to Castro. They see us take people from Cuba and Mexico, so they risk death thinking we will take them also. WE ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO THIS! Every one we keep sends a loud message back home that if you take the risk, it will pay off! If they KNEW we were not taking ANY illegal immigrants, they would not come and die in the process. When US laws are not fair or not followed, no one can play by the rules, and disaster is always the result. We must either take all, or take none. If we take all, it hurts the people of the US. Charity begins in the home. We should take care of the homeless, the sick, and the poor we already have, before importing any more.
