Posted by: populist 2 years, 9 months agoBook tour report from Mike Palecek: "In the eyes of Bush and Cheney and Rove, the war is going according to plan. They and their friends are making millions, billions, from the oil, from the defense industry, while the poor go without, while social services are cut in order to pay for more war and killing."

March 30, 2007, 8:57 a.m.Hey populistamerica.com, why don't U try something other than hate. R U capable? Can U understand my request? Is it so far above your heads U can't possibly see it? What will U do when Bush is not in office? Have U ever considered these things? I doubt that all of U together are capable of figuring these out. ICEHOLES!

March 30, 2007, 9:28 a.m.gotta love acts of CIVIL disobedience. much like thoreau getting jailed rather than paying a poll tax.
"If a thousand men were not to pay their tax bills this year, that would not be a violent and bloody measure, as it would be to pay them, and enable the State to commit violence and shed innocent blood. This is, in fact, the definition of a peaceable revolution, if any such is possible."

March 30, 2007, 9:57 a.m.I agree with everything he says.
To me it makes no difference who is in office as I lump them all into the same category. Self serving scalawags, enriching themselves and their corporate buddies by whatever means necessary. Be it by unjustified wars such as Iraq, false oil shortgages ( just in time for summer)hmmm-
I have empathy for other countries who are under constant threat by our country. Can you put yourself in their shoes? Suppose the shoe was on the other foot. Your an ordinary Iraq citizen, just trying to work, pay the bills, feed your children. A young Us Marine loaded to the gills with lethal weapons kicks your door in, terrorizing your family.
Watcha gonna do? Kiss him and say welcome to our country
Hell no!.
Your going to hate the US and all it stands for because from their perspective all they see is there country being obliterated. Their kids grow up with hate toward the US and someday they blow themselves up along with maybe your US marine son.

March 30, 2007, 12:02 p.m.Challenger your comment is interesting and true, good to see situations through the eyes of others now and then. While I support our troops wholeheartedly, I do not support this war for profit, greed, and oil which is costing so many of our young people their lives and putting the US very deeply in debt.

March 30, 2007, 12:38 p.m.Guys,
And you're just now figuring this out? The "GOD" money, politicians/politics greed/corruption; go hand-in-hand.
Will this stuff ever stop...that's like asking, is there an honest politician and honest politics? Not just NO,,,but HELL NO.

March 30, 2007, 2:28 p.m.This is interesting in that it implies that the rich are now getting richer by actually invading countries under the guise of peace, love, freedom and apple pie while covertly ripping off not only the invaded country of our govt's choice but also the American tax payer that financed the war.
