STONERS
March 29, 2007, 11:49 p.m.Agent James Gaylord read translated letters that he said were written by a Chinese aviation official and discovered during the investigation of Chi Mak, a naturalized U.S. citizen from China who worked for a California defense contractor and who is now on trial in U.S. District Court.
One 1987 letter was addressed to a Boeing engineer who worked on the space shuttle program and requested information on the development of the space shuttle as China discussed commercial aircraft.
