Rep. Joe Pitts (R) in Syria before Pelosi »
Posted by: bubba2 2 years, 7 months agoThough Bush admin officials have been criticizing Nancy Pelosi, it's not clear what role the White House and the Department of State played when Rep. Joe Pitts and 2 other Republican congressmen met with Syrian President Bassar Assad. "It was done in cooperation with the administration," said Gabe Neville, Pitts' chief of staff.

What is OBVIOUS is that the Bush admin are HYPOCRITES, practicing a DOUBLE-STANDARD.
They criticize Pelosi for being "out of line" by going to Syria. Meanwhile, they just happened to NOT notice that THREE Republicans also went to Syria, at the SAME time, and met with President Bashar Assad in Damascus.
If it is "wrong" for Pelosi to go to Syria or to any country to discuss U.S. and foreign policy, then is is wrong for ALL members of Congress to do it.
I'm waiting for the white house and Bush - and for the right-wing bloggers HERE - to Criticize Frank Wolf, Joe Pitts and Robert Aderholt. I'm not holding my breath ...
