"All four reports must be unanimously approved by the 120-plus governments that participate, and all changes must be approved by the scientists."

      Good luck from this WH.

There are so many things we can do now, and the cumulative effects will make a difference, until measures on a large scale can be achieved. But that takes a collective will, & that's the problem. We no longer have a media willing to address it in a way that brings people together as a society for the greater good. All they want to do is talk about the disagreements on the issue, leaving us divided. I don't know the answer to getting people on board and sensitive about how our individual choices affect the whole. But it seems to me, that has to be the first step.

Acting to save our environment is extremely urgent.

          Better sooner than late.

Unfortunately for political reasons there is a criminal denial

mostly by the ultraconservatives and corporate interest groups protected by the government.

I have been reading about this! It's a serious matter, not taken very seriously by the Bush administration, it just doesn't fit into his agenda. I think his agenda is to destroy the planet, that's the way he makes it appear.

I think the government bureaucracies should stay out of the negotiations completely. This is not about government. This is about the survival of our planet. The only one we have. The survival of our species depends on it. To heck with the dang governments! Let us here the truth and not be parsing words on something so vitally important to us all.

Don't want to believe in the problems introduced by pouring 7 trillion tons of carbon into the atmosphere each year? Then put your faith in the Bushies.

                Just look at their history.

Wrong about FEMA being ready for Katrian

                Wrong about WMDs in Iraq

                Wrong about Iraq's nukes

Wrong about al Quade ties to Iraq

Wrong about Iraq will instantly embrace democracy

                Wrong about Dubai Ports

Wrong about Harriet Myers being a Constitutional Scholar.

                I could easily go on...

The problem is, that Bush just might be wrong about Global Warming being fiction. And if you bet that this one time Bush is right, you're betting the future of your children and the planet on it. Better be ABSOLUTELY sure Bush knows what he's talking about this time before you place your bet.

We seem to be just about the only country that has turned rhis into a political issue. The truth of this situation is beyond the reach of the greedy and political apologists.

I don't understand the controversy behind this. Regardless if the globe is heating up, it just makes sense to find alternative sources of energy. Fuels that burn cleaner are better for everyone's health. I would prefer that those fuels be less expensive for the consumer but I doubt that the crooks in charge will allow that to happen. Why is everyone fighting this so hard?

4% of the atmosphere is CO2 and humans are responsible for a miniscule portion of that. Any reductions we make in CO2 would be measured in thousandths or ten-thousandths of a percent. Not enough to make any real difference.

The drive to cut back CO2 emissions will make a difference in our standard of living [lower] and prices [higher] and will definitely add restrictions on our freedom [which is why the Left is for it].

Then check the temperatures for the last 10,000 yrs, 7,500 yrs much warmer than now, then a cold period that warmed rapidly, till in 1000 it was warmer than now, then another cold period and a steady warming for several centuries. What is normal climate the 7,500 yrs or just the last 150 yrs? Is Mars getting warmer too? Do you think there might be a connection? Not all the information is in and too much is being politically ignored and derided, because of an agenda that promotes hysteria.

if BushCo actually thought global warming didn't exist, they wouldn't be pressuring all the scientists to strike that phrase form all their reports. and they'd be able to come up with something to disprove it from somewhere other than a rigged study that is secretly funded by exxonmobil.

they just don't want to do anything about it. Bush just wants to pass it on to the next person.

                          just like Iraq.

                          just like the debt.

bush is truly the cut and run president.

Hey, that's what they were telling me 30 years ago as the world tumbled into the next ice age due to man made pollution.

                            Where's the ice age?

Here in Michigan parts just got over 20 inches of snow the last couple of days.

Washington DC has not had snow for years - they are getting snow as I write.

For goodness sakes people look out the window!!!

Katrina was only a Cat 3 Hurricane. The demise of New Orleans was mostly due to the topography of the area. Though a monster of a hurricane, it did not have the strength of a Cat 4 or Cat 5.

And the ice age that was predicted was an aggregate cooling of the planet, not just specific areas.

I feel that this global warning is the earth taking it upon herself to rid herself of the waste. Like a cancer that invades the human blood. Earth has been invaded, Her waters are polluted. She reacts to what sits upon her.
