For example, Hellblazer was created by Alan Moore who claims to have discovered the character he first breathed to life in the pages of Swamp Thing through a real life meeting.

Surprised Green lantern isnt on this. Green lantern was based off of Aladin's ring.

April 7, 2007, 7:18 p.m.A pretty interesting story; I always knew that "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was a pretty hard sell from the get-go, but that they'd get #1 on a list like that is certainly another achievement in itself. Spider-Man (my favorite superhero of all time), yeah, I kind of expected that one too. But still, it's just appropriate that two of my favorite titles claim the top-2 spots.
