Funny thing about success is that sometimes it happens to people who weren't looking for it, or at least not in the way they thought. For example, Hellblazer was created by Alan Moore who claims to have discovered the character he first breathed to life in the pages of Swamp Thing through a real life meeting.

    I have always said and stand by it: "If we knew what would sell, we'd all do it." Actually Scott McCloud and others have told me that. Oh well I adopt it as good advice.

    Surprised Green lantern isnt on this. Green lantern was based off of Aladin's ring.

      Boy! just gazing at the Heavy Metal cover's of it's mags alone is worth to keep!

        A pretty interesting story; I always knew that "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was a pretty hard sell from the get-go, but that they'd get #1 on a list like that is certainly another achievement in itself. Spider-Man (my favorite superhero of all time), yeah, I kind of expected that one too. But still, it's just appropriate that two of my favorite titles claim the top-2 spots.
