Grindhouse: Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof »

Posted by: charbarred 2 years, 8 months ago

If Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror focused on explosions, blood-spewing squibs and hot chicks in tight T-shirts then Death Proof takes on the ultimate 70's special effect, the muscle car car chase, and even more hot chicks, lots and lots more.

Its not a bad review but he uses the word "chick" too much. That's offensive to chicks.

I just got back from seeing the movie or should I say movies as there were two films and a bunch of side stuff that made the whole 3 and one-half hours the best cinema I've seen in years.

Rodriguez is a master. I had to get used to the gore before I settled down and really enjoyed the move. The blood and violence was so obviously overdone as to be comedic but desparately needed in order to bring into focus the cliche of past horror movie experiences.

Tarentino's film is nothing short of genius. Kurt Russell plays a Hollywood has-been stunt double who kills for thrills until he literally runs into a few Hollywood stuntwomen. Tarentino keeps you wondering, anticipating, peering around the next corner as he slowly brings not one but two separate sets of characters to technicolor life. Then he shamelessly exploits the whole notion of the good, the bad and the ugly.

From the opening Previews of Coming Attractions to the last frame, Grindhouse is a total gas. GO SEE IT!!!

I'm a little upset that "Wild Hogs" is going to do better at the box office than this movie.

This was just a great movie viewing experience overall an people really should go see it.

"There are movies that have some parts too graphic to be shown on television - we have all of them"... hah.
