April 9, 2007, 8:59 a.m.The more important problem is that terrorists use middle eastern oil as their ATM. Let's get off foreign oil. Drill in Anwar and off Florida. Create 50 new refineries in Mexico. Why refine US gas in Mexico? Lax environment laws. US refiners won't build more 'cause it cuts into their profits. A new nuclear plant in every state. Embargo all oil from the middle east.
The US federal goverment must go green. They will lead the rest of us when the technology is ready. From building the finest weapons in the world, DOD will go to building the greenest military in the world. And they will do for for the best of national security reasons.

April 9, 2007, 5:02 p.m.Why does it always come down to the consumer to carry the brunt of an issue? Why can't industry and business provide solutions? Especially American car companies who are losing in the marketplace anyway? Ford, GM are only getting in on the hybrid after Toyota scored a hit with it.
