April 8, 2007, 1:18 p.m.And these are the kind of people the left thinks can be negotiated with, the type of people they defend and say the US tortures if we capture them. Kind of looks like they enjoy torturing anyone that doesn't do as they're told by these radicals, and yes, before you even say it, the "insurgents" in Iraq have the same mentality.

April 8, 2007, 10:21 p.m.zaph22 - Then your option is to continue the battle against Islamist extremist on their turf while being perceived as an invader. Meanwhile, more Islamist radicals and the growth of Al Queda grows daily while we perpetuate stupity by staying. Bush's Iraq war was from the beginning lunacy and now it has migrated to Afghanistan where our primary emphasis always should have been. Bush has screwed up all within the Middle East. This is his defeat not Americas.
Our Generals and idiot retired generals continue the charade of saying more time is needed, and the media mogul dolts allow them to continue this dillusion. In Vietnam the same thing, Idiot generals and leaders. You cannot win a civel war. In the beginning we were fighting a small group of radicals but now with Bush's policies the insurgency grows. Hell, if some nation took over America I would be a radical and killer myself. Isn't it obvious to all that lets take care of America and screw the world.

April 8, 2007, 11:28 p.m.``When we demanded the exchange for the Italian journalist, the government released the prisoners, but for the Afghan journalist, the government did not care,'' Atal said.
Ah, yes. Atal is more of a humanitarian. But the Afghan government made him do it.
Hope he dies a miserable death.

April 9, 2007, 9:19 a.m.Where's the video? I'm sure it would be an internet hit. (sarcasm)
Everytime these terrorists torture and behead people, they ensure the revulsion and enmity of millions of people. They live as if they're still in the fourteenth century.

April 9, 2007, 9:45 a.m.Too bad GW didn't finish the war and wipe these savages from the face of the earth. No, he had to spend our military on the invasion and occupation of an oil rich Arab nation that did not attack us on 9-11. What kind of signal did that send to the Arabs that did not agree with the violent radical Muslims.

April 9, 2007, 10:10 a.m.With each fresh Taliban outrage in Afghanistan, the alarm bells surely grow louder. These people, hand-in-hand with resurgent Al Qua'ida terrorists, are the real ememies, not just of the NATO forces in that country, but of the Afghan citizens themselves. They must be resisted wherever they occur and further pressure needs to be applied to Pakistan to destroy the safe havens.
This really is a war, not an occupation and the stakes are ominously high -- men with medieval minds but brandishing twenty-first century weapons cannot be allowed to prevail for a second time.

April 9, 2007, 11:21 a.m.A translator? He isnt even a warrior. Then agin you dont need to be in order to become a foot shorter. We saw that with poor ol Pearl. What I cant stand is that this sort of behavior goes on and some still makes excuses for the enemy and say WE are the problem with men in gitmo. If you ask them if they would want to be totured with loud music and sleep deprivation or have your head removed they either
A: come back with some insane comment about Bush
B: Come back with nothing at all
C: use defelection and bombastic speech never answering the simple question.
These monsters cant be defended. Show me a US soldier sawing the head off a Taliban gunman before you decide whois who in all this.

April 9, 2007, 12:54 p.m.Honestly, what do you really expect from a bunch of people who sleep in the dirt picking sand fleas off out of each other's ears while howling inautable montras??
Yet, we always seem surprised by their caveman mentality.

April 9, 2007, 2:50 p.m.Using a "glass maker" is barbaric. Technologically superior sure, but basically barbaric.
I mean chopping peoples heads off or charring them to cinders, both are pretty barbaric.
I think using a NUKE would more horrific.
