April 11, 2007, 10:23 a.m.FORD- Fix Or Risk Death..... my '96 Nissan pickup has 160,000 miles on it and the only thing I've had to replace is the battery, tires, oil etc.... Fords been making cars for HOW long and they STILL can't get the basics (brakes?) right....GEEZ how pathetic. The "Escape". How appropriate. Hopefully their owners will be able to if and when the thing blows!

April 11, 2007, 11:15 a.m.Yet ANOTHER thing bad about anti-lock brakes. Sorry - I don't like 'em. They were at least partially responsible for two "black ice" accidents I've been involved in. I wonder who made those connectors? Another job outsourced to China, perhaps? Servers them right if so. By the way, FORD is really an acronym for First On Race Day. {;>)=

April 11, 2007, 2:38 p.m.regardless of the brakes you have on your vehicle, it's all the drivers fault when it comes to black ice.

April 11, 2007, 2:56 p.m.As a once proud owner of two Ford Expeditions, Its a shame whats happening to ford motor corp.. I think ford makes excellent vehicles, as well as all the other American Manufacturers do. I only wish more people would purchase them.. Its to bad they are having this recall, its only going to be another black eye for Ford.. BUY AMERICAN!!! I think us Americans have come a long way in our vehicles, and in quality... I dont know about the rest of you, but I only buy American cars.. Since when do we make a inferior product!

April 11, 2007, 4:18 p.m.Good. Maybe they'll take back all those SUV's and replace them with more fuel efficient vehicles. Fat chance, right?

April 11, 2007, 4:18 p.m.In 1986, I purchased a new Ford vehicle. My family had always bought Fords. From the very first day I had problems with the vehicle. It was a piece of junk! I had problems with the transmission, u-joint, steering etc. I had returned the vehicle to the dealership five different times for different problems. One day I noticed the breaks were sounding horrible I returned it to the dealer who told me there was nothing wrong and that I was paranoid. Two days latter with less than 6000 miles on the car I was driving down a highway and the breaks failed. Thanks to Ford I almost died.
Ford screwed me out of thousands of dollars and my time. I was hospitalized thanks to the accident. When I got a hold of the zone representative for Ford, she told me go ahead sue Ford you will get as much money as the Pinto victims received - zero. I almost lost my life thanks to FORD. Hey Ford -- SCREW YOU I hope you go out of business considering the way you treated me.

April 11, 2007, 4:22 p.m.I almost died in the accident and spent nine months going through physical therapy - no thanks to the garbage Ford produces.
Since then I have purchased a new Honda, Acura, Subaru, and now I drive a Mercedes-Benz SUV which I think is the best vehicle I could have ever owned.
THERE IS NO WAY NO HOW I that I would ever buy another Ford.

April 11, 2007, 5:25 p.m.As I read more posts, there have been unfortunate accidents. My sympathy goes out to you. But to make a broad stereotype that ALL fords are bad is grossly ignorant!!! My 1998 Ford Expedition 4x4 saved my life on Interstate 4 in Orlando Florida.. Ever been hit by a 18 wheeler, I have and had it not been for the strength of the frame on my Expedition I would not be talking and responding today!!! All vehicles have there issues no matter what Manufacturer they originate from. As for they all have foreign parts, well that maybe so, but atleast the money STAYS IN THE USA!! Thats the difference between foreign and domestic.. In response to the ignorant statement that Ford doesnt make fuel economy SUV'S!!! Do some homework, do some research then spew your rhetoric...

April 11, 2007, 5:58 p.m.oh yeah, ford nearly killed me when thier stupid faulty wires caught on fire and exploded my battery, caught the engine on fire. What a piece of junk! I bought a Silverado, OMG! 140,000 miles without a single problem. I am kissing my GM, you can't change my mind!

April 11, 2007, 6:27 p.m.OHHHH I'm sure ford is the only one I'm sorry but I am a mechanic and I do alot more work on GM cars than I do on Ford.. But all car companys have their problems It's a piece of metal and plastic thats tiny moving parts working together they do have defects from time to time.. That fire problem happend to me on a 1990 chevy S10 with 42K on it's scarry when your dash catches fire at 70mph. Their is only one auto maker
that has not had lemon in ten years .. SUBARU I do not like them but they are good safe cars. I will still drive my ford-dodge-jeep as long as I can...
