Cemone Thomas quit Monday hours before city investigators released a scathing report accusing her of "gross dereliction" of her duties by underreporting a rodent infestation at a KFC/Taco Bell in Greenwich Village.

Thomas inspected the restaurant Feb. 22 and didn't cite all the rat droppings, which would have caused the restaurant to fail the inspection and could have forced it to close immediately, inspectors said.

Rats are harder to get rid of than roaches! Had these things get my attic once and I'll take roaches anyday.

She probably took all the hush money$$$ to a Swiss bank account so that she can live off the fat of the land. Are you kidding me?

Inspectors accept bribes from managers/owners all the time in New York! She should'nt be free from prosecution though, that alone isn't right. She should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. That restaurant was an endangerment to all that ate there.

This is too funny:"A Department of Health spokesman, Geoffrey Cowley, said Thomas was a "superb inspector who made a very serious mistake."

That alone tells you that the D.O.H. is in serious need of revamping from the top on down...

Oh Mayor Bloomberg? Do you think you can take the time, & come down from that ivory tower, and straighten this out?
