April 13, 2007, 8:02 a.m.Fabricated?
Do you mean his public apology is fabricated too?
Wow, digital animation these days looks so ... life-like!
LOL!
Bye, bye Wolfowitz.
Another nepotistic neocon appointee who will not be missed.
Good riddance.

April 13, 2007, 8:15 a.m.Punishment: Give him army uniform and send him to Iraq to fight the street gangs and death squads in Baghdad.
You see, US army is really fighting the street gangs and death squads in Baghdad. Just to save their face the politicians are saying that we are fighting terrorists there.

April 13, 2007, 8:35 a.m.Yes, and this is the guy that assured us all that the Iraq war would "only" cost $5Bn. I guess he was "off" a bit with his numbers.
He's just another Neo-Con clown who has no grasp on reality. Let's remember that he was one of the main architects of the Iraq war. What scares me his position. How in the world did he go from deputy defense sec of the US to head of the World Bank??? I've always wondered when this scumbag would make the headlines again.
His position doesn't pass the sniff test. He's another corrupt official of the Bush bootlicking brigade.

April 13, 2007, 8:39 a.m.Lying seems to come naturally to many associated with the Bush regime. It was interesting that the article said the staff wasn't so upset about the lie but the cover-up.
"What drove the anger at the bank was not that Mr. Wolfowitz had denied earlier that he had sought Ms. Riza's transfer, but that he had been less than fully candid in discussing it until documents surfaced showing his direct role. His earlier insistence that he had consulted with ethics officials was disputed by some of them, who say they were not involved in the salary aspect of discussions."
Does this sound familar?

April 13, 2007, 9:13 a.m.Most corrupt administration ever. I don't know who said it, but they had it right:
"George W. Bush makes Nixon look honest, Reagan look intelligent and his father look coherent."

April 13, 2007, 9:17 a.m.The thing that gets me about these guys is that not one of them has a spark of idealism in their bodies. From Cheney on down they try to portray idealism in the fight in Iraq while filling their trunks with all the loot that they can possibly embezzle - or in this case getting sexual favours for free by stealing for their girlfriend..
I don't know if this is the right place to speak of the laws of karma but how can they possibly imagine that the sh.. ain't going to hit the fan one day? Or from another perspective - where and how do they imagine they're going to spend their afterlife or their next life?
Straight to hell or re-incarnation as a cockroach perhaps.

April 13, 2007, 9:29 a.m.After the fine job Wolfowitz did at the Pentagon at best he should be pumping gas for a living. But noooooo! Our fine President nominates him to lead the World Bank! I imagine that after he gets the boot from the bank a Medal of Freedom will be just around the corner.
Just another neo-con showing his true colors.

April 13, 2007, 9:48 a.m.I hope that's a joke, LEFREAK.
Since Jews were forbidden to own property in so many anti-semite countries throughout history, they had to find SOME livelihood that wasn't cleaning stables.
That being said, Wolfowitz is corrupt, anti-Democracy, and generally a traitor to his people and his country.
P.S. -and should probably be in Gitmo with Bush/Cheney/Rove.

April 13, 2007, 10:29 a.m.Here is the real reason this is such a big issue
"many of the bank's employees ...have challenged many of his policies at the bank, especially those cracking down on corruption"

April 13, 2007, 10:32 a.m.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=my4nKhVaPss notice how he deflects the interviewers question about being the architect of this war and gives the credit for it to the American people first, then bush.!?!? warning bad language.

April 13, 2007, 10:50 a.m.When anyone asks how the present adminstration can remain in power when they have been shown to be so corrupt and incompetent, one has to realize that the Bush folks learned a very valuable lesson from Nixon. Bush picked a Vicre President so odious that no one would want the President out, either by impeachment, assaination, or death by natural causes.

April 13, 2007, 11:47 a.m.Sometimes I wonder: Is there any official, anywhere, in ANY capacity, that is NOT corrupt? We might as well be some crap-hole third world country here with a corrupt dictator -- and everyone else right down to the dogcatcher. It's REALLY disgusting. And I don't think we are seeing anything much better on the horizon either.

April 13, 2007, 11:47 a.m.Yes, as someone close to the story said, "Mr Wolfowitz has built a glass house, and thrown a brick into it."
