April 13, 2007, 2:47 p.m.I think they should appoint a scapegoat too! Oh, that is in the job description.

April 13, 2007, 6:35 p.m.Already have a war czar. It's called the commander and chief. Hummm. Thought that was the President. Can't expect cowards and draft dodgers to accept the responsibility of the office they hold thanks to a bias court.

April 13, 2007, 6:50 p.m.Sounds like Bush and Cheney want someone to hand the wheel of the Titantic over to while they jump off.

April 13, 2007, 7:29 p.m.Whatever happened to the Republican concept of "Small Government?" You remember, the thing they scream every election year and claim the Democrats oppose? Shouldn't Bush be cutting positions down and getting rid of pork, instead of creating positions that he can fill with all his ol' college pals and cocaine buddies from the good ol' days, in order to pay off old debts? Is this guy really a Republican?

April 13, 2007, 8:13 p.m.What about our Born Again Mass Murderer in Chief?
The Dumbya dictatorship has no intention of withdrawing from this utterly failed, bloody and costly fiasco they created. They're blinded by their visions of oil profits.
The poltroon keeps telling you how much progress he's making - what he means by progress is all the "hard work" he's done screwing America for six years.
The junta is imploding under the dead weight of its own stupidity, arrogance and incompetence ... not to mention its criminality.
They urgently need a scapegoat to prolong the draining of America's blood and treasure.

April 13, 2007, 8:31 p.m.If they REALLY want something to work they will ask James Baker to take over. He seems to know the area and what's going on.

April 13, 2007, 8:36 p.m.What about Henry Kissinger. He's done a lot of wonderful things for America. He'll know just what to do.

April 13, 2007, 8:45 p.m.One more stupid idea to avoid confronting the reality of what they've done. We have a commander in chief. What's more important than "managing his war"?

April 13, 2007, 8:48 p.m."War Czar" has kind of a Nazi ring to it. Sort of like "Homeland Security". Will that make the facist state of G.W. Bush complete?

April 13, 2007, 8:51 p.m.Bush and Cheney want one more person they can throw under the bus. The two of them remind me of Abbott and Costello. Who's on first What's on second I don't knows on third base.

April 13, 2007, 9:04 p.m.What I find disgusting, unacceptable and UNAMERICAN is the use of this word 'czar' to describe ANY position in our government.
Why?
'Czar' stems from the same root as does 'King'...both deriving from 'Ceaser'...
In case folk have forgotten, we here in YankeeLand HAVE NO KINGS!
For our current Public Servant in Chief to propose such shows just how much disdain and hatred he has for our Peoples Democratic Republic.
All you Republicans out there still supporting this guy, pay attention! Our country is being sold out and stolen, not by degrees, but wholesale.

April 13, 2007, 9:04 p.m.There once was a Commander In Chief
whose record was nothing but grief
he may soon go into hiding
"The Decider" may quit deciding
and let some chump "War Czar" take the beef!
His flight suit is hanging unworn
its cup empty as that promise forlorn
"Mission Accomplished" read the sign
now he's got some sucker in mind
some brass-hatted scapegoat on the horn!

April 13, 2007, 9:11 p.m.Twistoflex:
The Bush/Cheney maladministration just wants some scapegoat to attract criticism that is rightfully leveled at all of them. That is such a surge they have going, about fifty in the first 12 days and 1 major bridge taken out and 1 Iraq government leader taken our along with many others and all kinds of chaos--including 1500 civilians outside Baghdad who make ups for the decline in deaths within the city.
I suspect that anyone dumb enough to let himself be dragged into that position is too dumb for anything else.
Hey, wouldn't that be a perfect role for McCain to play?

April 13, 2007, 9:13 p.m.I really must be stupid. Now we need a war czar? Why can't we have a peace czar. Isn't anyone tring to end this stupid war? Why are we killing people that want us to leave their country. They have been fighting there for thousands of years. Didn't we try it before with the Shar of Iran? Lets get the hell out and let them fight their own civil war. Oh, I forgot how will the war corporations make money? The world is angry with us with the way we act toward them.

April 13, 2007, 9:20 p.m.JenMurdock:
Whatd'ya think? Want to join a draft McCain movement to take over that position. He says he is for Bush's plans, the hawkiest of the hawks. Why not give him a chance to make a real contribution. If by chance he could make any improvement, he might have a chance at the Republican nomination that he seems to have lost otherwise.
Somebody who knows someone in McCain's campaign oughta make a suggestion.

April 13, 2007, 9:28 p.m.Sounds good to me. McCain would make a very
useful idiot for Shrub & Co.

April 13, 2007, 9:31 p.m.MajJohn:
Sorry, Imus was much too smart to support Bush's wars. He was against them from day one. To suggest he might be for them is a far bigger insult of him than was his insult of the nappy hos.
Now Senator Lieberman--He's Bush's lackey--he lacks sense, he lacks judgement, and he even distracted Imus from the important matters to support him in the last election.
Of course Lieberman's sectarian position explains his interest in having the US in the MidEast to protect Israel, and probably explains Imus' lapse of judgement in supporting Lieberman in spite of opposing the stupid war.
Get Lieberman to resign so a good democrat against the war can be appointed in his place--and give Lieberman a chance to really go after his ill defined and elusive victory!
Better yet--get both McCain and Lieberman into a joint "bipartisan" lackey-dom!
