Posted by: gatitabonitasen 2 years, 8 months ago

I laid out the facts and figures about the monetary cost of the Iraq war to U.S. taxpayers, assuming conservatively a low-end estimate of annual spending on the Iraq war. I concluded that the main American residents paying for the war are high-income people because the U.S. tax system takes a much higher percentage of income from high-income peopl

Meanwhile, instead of paying for their war the Republicans cut taxes and pass the cost to future generations.

China is bankrolling Bush's war. Our children and grandchildren will be the ones to pay for it.

I do not want to gloat but I have been avering that our government under Bush is becoming tenuous. America has been deceived by both the White House and Wall Street. We are a deck of cards stacked one upon the other and its teerering.

I will give credit when due. The Chinese are laying back allowing America to squander trillions in a belief of promoting Democracy. In other words our rich in America desire more trinkets and cash to promote their santanistic view of the world, Money!! It matters not that Americans are dying for their cause, they could care less, including that never in war, BUSH.

Keep voting these idiots in and you deserve what you have. At least I voted against the status quo for Americas future, can you say the same?

surely the us government could put that money to better use. the usa like any other country has poor people, homeless people. i heard that 43 million people have no health insurance in the usa. i would say to use that money to help your own people. my county,(england) had a welfare state that was the envy of the world but has now been eroded by succesive governments. protect your country yes but dont forget your own people, they are the ones after all that you protecting remember

This article is an opinion and only that. He has no way of knowing what the real cost of this war will be. As other have said, we have borrowed our future from China to pay for this war and when their bills come due we will be in real trouble.

He didn't mention that the top 1% are getting richer and we are getting poorer.

His assertion that the wealthy are paying more for this war is rubbish, the wealthy in the US pay the least taxes of almost any industrialised nation, after tax breaks and the like.

You will not find anyone in the top 20% income bracket that has died in this war, our wars are always advocated by the chicken hawks and died an paid for by the poor.
