Dallas-Fort Worth motorists are seeing 11-cent increases this week. According to AAA Texas' Weekend Gas Watch, Dallas drivers are paying about $2.74 per gallon of regular, self-serve gasoline. Fort Worth motorists aren't faring any better, with pump prices hovering around $2.73 per gallon, on average.

"According to the U.S. Department of Energy, gasoline inventories have been weak for several weeks and demand continues to be up," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. "If both indicators remain, prices will more likely continue to go up as well."

It's a WIN-WIN situation for the oil companies like Exxon, isn't it? They can blame all sorts of reasons to keep gas prices high, from the weather, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and other stuff to the open market, terrorists, etc.

Never mind no one mentions that the Iraqi oil production has been OFF LINE since the start of the USA attacking Iraq. Maybe that has a bit of a reason for the price increase. Hmm.

A sparrow farts, and GAS PRICES GO UP.

Gas prices go up for a few simple reasons.

        1. oil companies control quanity of crude available.

        2. oil companies control quanity of refined products.

        3. oil companies control quanity of products delivered.

        4. oil companies control the price by reduction in any of numbers 1,2,or 3 above. This is done for the almighty dollar, and we allow it because of apathy.

Well Texas, you might be the Lone Star state, but don't feel like the long ranger. Gas prices are way up and rising all over. I pay a little bit higher than what is being charged in Texas.

Intereting juxtaposition of stories you submitted, STONERS.

This one, saying gas prices continue to rise, and another, headlined "Oil Prices Dip as Traders Take Profit."

I paid $2.89/gallon in Chicago a couple of days ago, 25 cents more than I paid two weeks ago at the same station.

Is it me or when you see a story like this do you go out and drive more ?

I for one do not drive more , but articles about gas prices say that people do that and that is why the prices go up .

Stores sell less goods , when gas prices are higher , people from what I see drive less , so what gives , SCAM after SCAM .

When will the SCAMS STOP ?

Just wait until a Hurricane spawns in the Gulf . If something happens to my family does that give the right to go out and scam people to get more profits ? We have paid the debt for Katrina along time ago , time to let it go and lower the prices .

Oh , Texans pays $1500 dollars per kilowatt hour for electricity versus $100 the rest of the nation does .

Oh , watching Money Market report Friday , reporter stated that the USA export of crude oil was down $2 versus import prices , WHY are we exporting oil and WHO to and WHY at a loss ? When we are told US supplies are down 5.5 million barrels .

Yeah buuddy! This gas thing is a big game, when will we ever just use oil for all the 'other' products and come up with other forms of fuel for travel?

It would have to drop 26 cents here to be at 2.73 gal, so quit yer whinning lol, it has seemed to remain higher here on the west coast than elsewhere.

I dont think Texas is so bad off. In Grover Beach,CA we are paying 3.49 a gallon for the cheapest unleaded gas!!

I'm sure that this is Bush's fault and when and if we elect a Democrat for president the oil companies will shake in fear and lower the price of oil and gas. Sure.
