"Shortly after Heather's disappearance, Mason discovered that his tow chains were missing from the garage he used. Today, he still think it's possible someone used the chains to weigh down Heather's body and throw her in the Mississippi River."

Also a "the only witness was a legally blind neighbor who said he saw a child being carried out of the apartment in the early morning hours."

That is what police has to go after. Maybe if Mason was black, i believed he would had been already accused of crime.

From the info in the article it seems to me either one of these men could have been responsible.

It's sad the state of things these days, there seems to be such a rise in this sort of thing. :(

I don't mean to sound insensitive to this particularly unfortunate case, but why is it almost always about a white girl? I mean, why isn't there any more news stories about a black girl or a chinese girl or a mexican girl being kidnapped or something? It appears that it's only news when a white girl disappears, huh? Tsk tsk...

I'm just saying...don't bash me for saying something that many folks are thinking.

I think this represents someone's personal mission as there are thousands of missing children. Certainly not journalism, nor frontpage material when there is a genocide going on in Iraq and Darfur.

Page after page of missing children. The focus on one is neither interesting nor responsible.
