All across America, no doubt, non-Korean Asian-Americans are now heaving a sigh of relief. "Asian," after all, was the four-alarm-fire word we saw throughout the day after the shootings that took the lives of 33 people at Virginia Tech. The shooter was "Asian," the news reports said. But who was this "Asian" exactly?

Personally, as someone who is both of Arab/Berber decent and African-American, I had to admit that I was hoping that whoever did this wasn't one from my communities.
With that said, with the info that their finding out about this guy; it seems that almost everyone in his universe failed him. His teachers that read the horrible things that he wrote, his psychological counselor (who didn't suggest a 72 hour hold in a mental ward)whatever friends he had and his family. Also, to a certain extent, the government failed the students because resident aliens shouldn't be allowed to buy weapons

Racism is alive and kickin'! We are ALL responsible for that. HUMAN race includes everyone and some are capable of the most horrific acts.

Having lived around the world and having seen racism in every corner, I can tell you now that this story is just so much foolishness. The only reason that anyone from Asia was worrying was because some foolish person brought the idea of fear to them. I've seen gangs of young Asians beating and killing other Asians over religion and ethnic back ground. I've seen a store burnt and places of worship vandalized and then burnt. We don't hold a candle to what mayhem Asians have done and will do to each other overseas. This story is just another hate America first story written by a hack who knows better.
