April 20, 2007, 5:10 a.m.Yup, totally agree.
Nowadays is not really about the certs and degrees but a SKILL that you have. With a SKILL, nobody can take that away from you and of course.. no one can retrench.
Another they need to invest in is self development or somesort, for example to read interview and reports that can increase thier knowledge about financial literacy. Just like this free interview on Bob Proctor and Stephen Pierce talking about The Secrets to Wealth.
You can download this free interview here

So like this type of information would prepare them not to work for money but be grateful and happy.. why human need's more money or always sacrifice good time just for work? Sometimes we just lost our true way in this complicated society.. sometimes we just want to be happy.. as simple as that..

April 20, 2007, 7:49 a.m.This is smart advice. That is probably the one thing that I would have liked to have had more of at the college level. I did have a good internship and that helped a lot, but I would have liked to had more of a variety of work in my field to better judge what type of career path I wanted to take.

April 20, 2007, 1:15 p.m.There should also be something in college for kids to learn about office politics and opffice edicate.
I find myself having to work along side some recent graduates and regardless of how smart they are or how fancy of an education they have, they are clueless when it comes to just knowing how to act and how to present themselves in the work place. Which in my opinion is as important at work as work ethic and talent
I think for the students in aprticular who move away and live on campus, being around unemplyed teenages/early 20's college students 24 hours a day causes them to stay very immature. And that attitude doesnt just disapear immediately after graduation. And its very hard for them to understand. Ove found myself having to lend a hand and explain things to them and they just dont get it because its a whole new strange world to them
