Dylan Hargreaves, four, has severe learning difficulties and had never uttered a single word. But after listening to macaw Barney, he can now say "Night, night", "Dad", "Mum", "Ta", "Hello"

April 20, 2007, 2:49 p.m.people need to realize that animals can be a help sometimes when no human can. there are a bunch of programs using dogs to help emotionally troubled kids open up. way to go, dylan & barney!

And experts think he is close to his first two-syllable word.' Hello is a two-syllable word, lol. In all seriousness, I think it's a fascinating story though. Nice to read something with a good ending.
