STONERS
April 20, 2007, 1:07 p.m.In fact, despite a 10-week run-up in pump prices, Americans continue using more gasoline this year than they did in 2006, according to a Department of Energy report last week.

April 21, 2007, 8:36 a.m.My family is trying to reduce our driving as much as possible. I have opened my own business from home, but still spend at least $30 to $40 a week on gas. My husband is in the process of doing more work from home as well. (he probaby puts 80 miles per day on his vehicle!!) But with 4 kids in sports and a long commute to the grocery store, we'll never get our consumption low enough.

April 21, 2007, 12:15 p.m.Ok I want to pay $1.85 for a gallon of gas , oh wait I can't because the price is $2.85 , people are getting use to the "High Prices" , so says Big Oil companies making record profits .
Scam , pure Scam .
Remember in the 70's ? Same scam different dates .
Katrina has long passed so should the $3.00 a gallon gas price .
I remember hearing that gas prices would go down a year after Katrina , they did for a short while , but then the scams started . Gas companies got use to record profits , like pigs that don't know when to stop eating , so the American public pays and pays .

April 21, 2007, 12:18 p.m.It's really unfortunate that people still aren't willing to take action even with economic incentive. I still see a million big fat hideous SUVs on the road every day. Even Hummers. Although, Smarts are on the rise.
It'd make a big difference if everyone who commuted drove a Smart or similar vehicle- if you go down the 401 during rush hour, there are still a million full-sized cars with just one person in them. If you're only driving yourself around, you really don't need a big family sedan or van.

April 21, 2007, 12:52 p.m.Slight increases in gasoline prices do not normally cut down on the number of trips made by drivers. It has become a habit for drivers to get into their vehicles when they need to travel, regardless of whether the destination is in another town or just down the road. As the saying 'old habits die hard', a hike in the price of gasoline will not deter them from going behind the drivers'wheel.

April 21, 2007, 1:03 p.m.Even if everyone drove Samrts , it would not matter , consume less price goes up so Big Oil can make profits .
I could see it , "the average consumer consumes less gas as before but the average price per gallon is now $12.00" .
Cars that get better mileage is not the answer , choking off the Big Oil companies is .
Instead of dumping Gas in the Desert and risk getting caught again , they now run refineries at lower capacity or take them off line more for various reasons and say there is a shortage .
The wind blew hard last night , time to raise the price of gasoline .
