Here is something to dream about! An effort to explain dreams and what they mean! Read, comment, enjoy,

And, finally, get a good night's sleep without worrying about your past life, future events, nightmares, etc.

(Unless you are thinking about our current national nightmare!)

Peace and Blessings! And a good night!

      That was very interesting.

I used to have the same dream, it varied somewhat from one time to the other, but the basics of the dream were the same. I still have variations of that same dream occasionally but not like i used to.

Thanks searchbeam, i enjoyed the read!!

Thank you searchbeam. An interesting idea.

But my dreams have never caused a moments worry. I think they are fun things that are both amusing and bemusing. They make me feel as if I have been tripping while asleep. And such lovely colors! Wow!

And they are a relief from our current national nightmare.

Interesting theory; however, there is no middle man with brain entries. By that I mean, information goes directly to the brain without reliance on someone in the back room entering the data.

I had a recurring dream for several months years ago. It was a difficult time in my life, when as a single mom I kept running into obstacles as I tried to provide for my family. I dreamt I was hovering over floors; hardwood floors, carpeted floors, vinyl floors. It was crazy, I thought. One night I woke after that dream, and wondered what the 'floors' meant. So I thought myself a floor, and what would be the first thing I'd say; "I'm so tired of people walking all over me." From that night on, I found my voice. ;)

I love remembering my dreams, the good and the bad. For as long as I can remember I've been into dream interpreting and have several books that I reference, they can provide some insight into our dreams.

              Searchbeam.

Thanks for your blog. It has interesting insights.

Personally I appreciate it since I have a recurrent dream about a psychopath corrupted bigot (my boss in a Veterans Hospital.)

Never in my entire life I had this type of problem.

I think if any event in your life departs so much from fair and normal interactions, your psyche rejects abomination since the aberrant is not built into your mind naturally and genetically.

If I see something 'out of the ordinary' or something I would normally worry about during the day,and don't have time to think about it, I might dream about it that night. Like if I see a spider (I'm scared of spiders) and I don't have a moment to think about it, it might pop up in a dream. Which is ok, because I'm not scared of them in my dreams.

I hardly ever dream about events that can't actually happen.

I have a very hard time reading or understanding numbers, like on a phone.

Inside EVERY building/house the rooms are always SOOO much bigger space wise.

It isn't so much the dreams as it is the way it happens to me. My dreams at times are as if they are "posted" in Nutscape fashion. To me that tells me I need a time out from blogging, LOL

Even a small glimpse of something that doesn't make sense or a brief look at something strange,or a quick worry, if my thought process is disrupted away from that process of even wondering about something, it usually comes up in a dream. and it needn't be disrupted by anything important, it could be the door bell ringing. With me it's really become noticable, so I've been trying to at least pause for a moment and think- you know ,make sure that 'memory file' makes sense or is at least acknowledged that it's there.

Sometimes my dreams are responses to questions in my life whether i want to deal w/ or not. other times its the name of a band i can't remember and the song plays in my dream all night long. I usually remember the band the next day, but i'm so exhausted from all that singing.

                            Most fascinating recurring dream story.

This fellow went to mental health professionals because of a disturbing, frequently occurring dream.

He went to bed and set the alarm for the morning. In his dream, the alarm went off. He got up, started coffee brewing, gathered the things for breakfast, then went back to the bedroom to collect wallet, keys and so forth. When he entered his bedroom, he saw his own body quietly asleep on the bed.

Instantly he was back in the supine body and WIDE awake. He would get up, go into the kitchen to check, and even though it was only 2 or 3 AM, the coffee was indeed percolating and stuff for breakfast was laid out and ready. He'd put it all away and go back to sleep only to have it repeat two or three times a night.

Nobody could offer him any suggestion as to why this was happening. The story is not a happy one. Hope you all have MUCH more pleasant dreams than this poor guy.

Most of the time I am to tired to dream. When I do dream, It is usually due to the event of the day at work. Ten years ago when I hired on in a grocery store, they put me to work with a manager that flipped me out. He kept giving me a hard time till I figured out he was selling crack to certain customers. So I got my husband to put on a s.w.a.t. team shirt some one had given us and come in to the store. Butter didn't melt in his mouth after that. Before the shirt show I would have dreams and cuss the guy out, one night I was throwing produce at him in my sleep, I doted my husband. He quit his job two weeks later.

Does anyone know anything about the percentages of dreams in color as opposed to black and white? It may be a weird question, but I seem to recall that there are some differences depending on sex.

I once knew a guy who believed that we had already lived our lives and that what we are currently experiencing are mental "reflections" from that life. By his way of thinking, dreams were a real-time look into the unreflected life.

I didn't know you could make yourself a cup of coffee while having a out of body experience.

Dreams of flying are the best. (subconcious astral projection)

                                    Anyone ever suffer from Hypnagogia?

As a kid I would sometimes wake up, and everything seemed at that instant to be very ... real... very weird, and it would feel like this giant weight was crushing down on me and pinning me and at the same time I was convinced I was being watched. As I grew older that happened less and less frequently, and I never really understood what it was until more recently.

The interesting thing about it, is thought even though it happened so long ago, it still remains very vivid in my memory.

Interesting take on dream analysis. In my own opinion, the meanings are only relevent to the dreamer. Seeing a tiger in my dream may mean there's trouble brewing. To others, a tiger may mean good luck or they just like big cats. ;)

Searchbeam, you should really look into lucid dreams, now THAT'S where the party's at!

I've always had bad dreams of dogs attacking and sometimes killing me ever since I was like 5 years old, but I've never known why.

I absolutely love dogs (hate cats) and I don't know what would cause me to have such odd dreams. Anyone know more about this than I do?

I've had dreams with some good music. I'm far from being able to write it down but I think it's a weak version of these folks that can hear an entire score and simply copy it down.
