April 24, 2007, 9:51 p.m.Mac was the 'melody' Beatle....(not that he was the only one who wrote good ones), but Paul had THE knack for writing melodies that stuck in your head...Lennon was too 'cult of personality' for me, and I don't care for his politics...Give me 'Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey', any day....(yes,I know it's a Wings' song..and silly) because THAT is genius...I think it's perfectly fitting that someone (a la TV movie) came up to Lennon and told him what a great song 'Yesterday' is...because 200 years from now...Paul's melodies will be familiar...and John's music will be a distant second fiddle....mark my words.

April 25, 2007, 11:44 a.m.Like you packmule,"The Cute One" was my favorite Beatle.
He was the best musician of the Fab Four.I share the same thoughts for John as you do.
John I liked as well, but like you said, a second fiddle to Paul.
It must be comforting to know that when one day when Sir Paul leaves this planet. He'll be satisfied in knowing that he's made his niche in the world, made a difference, and left a hefty legacy through his beautiful music.
Thanx Wil!
