Other popular choices for South Carolina's new state bird are the frozen turkey and the fried chicken.

What's wrong with just a pidgeon? They're practically existential. I encounter them every day.

Especially when I have to wash my car.

Anybody who's ever inadvertently walked near a mocking bird nest in the spring knows that the mocking bird would be a very poor choice to replace the wren.

I think South Carolinians should just deal with it. Realize that the world has changed, and now the entire great outdors is a hard-hat area.

I think that California should adopt the Raven or Crow....have plenty of them out there supporting the current "state of affairs" in that state...over taxation, over regulation, over population, etc.

Slow news day? Dive bombing is their way of protecting their nest. Perhaps humans should get out of their way.

SC should consider the LOON! It definetly fits their way of thinking!

IMHO they are protecting nest habitat and young, we only swoop and attack people when they come to close to our home. It's a form of self defense.
