April 25, 2007, 3:52 p.m.Who ever said Bill Maher is a liberal? I was very upset when he got his silly self fired from his show "Politically Incorrect" right after 911. He's more like the kid with a pin at a birthday party running around popping the other kids's balloons. I guess he popped yours too.

April 26, 2007, 12:10 p.m.Bill Maher is and has always been a Libertarian. He has voted the Libertarian Party in the elections except, maybe, the last election, because he has an extreme hatred towards Bush. I wouldn't even call Maher a racist except to say that every person is a racist in one way or another.

April 26, 2007, 12:14 p.m.The author is trying to paint Maher as a racist, but she apparently has not paid much attention. He is an avowed atheist and does not think any more highly of Christians, Mormons or Jews.
To single out a bias against Islam is to misunderstand his point. He often states that all religion is stupid. He has made just as many comments about Bush's Christian Jihad in the Middle East as he has about Islam.
What Maher (and I) are against is religiously motivated abuse or criticism of other people and religious justification of atrocities and inequities anywhere.

April 26, 2007, 12:43 p.m.Maher is characterized as both racist and a liberal, yet most say he is an entertainer for the liberal left. Seldom does he bring value to the discussions, but regularly brings humor for leftist uses, especially when attacking anything that vaguely appears republican. Similar to Rosie on the Disney owned ABC or Don Imus from MSNBC, he represents a similar leftist persona, but on HBO.
He, and others are part of the basis for the claims of liberal bias in the media, when they (Rosie, Imus, and Maher) remained free to malign American governmental and religious leaders, particularly White Christians.
Maher has displayed an extreme hatred for the current administration and strong bias for the strong left of center form of government.
Much of his work is attributed to Libertarian and atheistic view, yet his hatred for alternative values are consistently manifest. Maher regularly attributes cultural conflict as religiously-based and therefore has little respect for other societal values.

April 26, 2007, 1:28 p.m.Imus was a leftist? LOL. Man, at least Maher has been calling a spade a spade (not racially) for years, rather than just lately jumping on the bandwagon. He has no pretense of being a non-biased journalist - he's an entertainer. He freely admits such, rather than posturing as a pundit, as do Hannity, Limbaugh, OReilly etc, ad naseum.
He's often pretty funny, too.
Sadly, I thought Maher really pu$$ed out when he had Al Sharpton on commenting about the Imus Media Pigsty. If he was a true racist, he woulda and coulda nailed that Rev. - you know, fire-with-fire.

May 23, 2008, 10:15 a.m.His "cover" of being an agnostic and hating all religion is ******. Bill Maher is a closet Jew, he ALWAYS has at least one Jew, sometimes 2 or 3 on every show. Even when the hypocrite discusses the Middle East (which is almost every show), he almost never has a Muslim or Arab on the panel. Hypocrite zionist (I guess that's redundant)!!!

May 23, 2008, 10:32 a.m.Real Time season 2 Episode 3, Maher and Larry Miller stated that the problem with Israel is that the Jews didn't expel ALL the Arabs when Israel was created! People like Maher feel that a Jew from anywhere in the world has a right to live in Israel, but a Palestinian born there and whose family has been there for generations should be expelled, tortured, occupied, jailed, raped... Israel is the largest terrorist country in the region, it has attacked, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq in recent years, has more WMD than any other country in the region, is the only country with nuclear weapons, has a racist/apartheid "democracy" and is often the only country along with the US to vote against a UN resolution with 100 other countries against. The Palestinians are the greatest people of modern time! Not only have they endured and survived persecution, genocide and occupation for 60 years, but even against the war machine of the USA, they will one day have THEIR country back.

May 23, 2008, 10:59 a.m.Maher never mentions the brave Palestinian resistance (American resistors were terrorists to the British and were executed; and Nelson Mandela was a terrorist to the Dutch in South Africa and was imprisoned)that fights occupation and oppression with homemade rockets, small arms and even rocks against US jets, helicopters, missiles and tanks. GOD bless the Palestinians (Muslim and Christian) and damn the zionoists (Jew and Christian).
