STONERS
April 26, 2007, 2:07 a.m."I could see the leaders almost the whole race, and it was like we all were just out there running the exact same lap times," said Dale Earnhardt Jr. "It was a parade. I was bored.
"No one could pass anybody else - we were all equal it seemed."

April 26, 2007, 11:18 a.m.NASCAR boring? I think the drivers are starting to get it, when will the fans come around? Maybe when the beer buzz fades. Ratings are down. If no one is going crash and burn what's the point of watching? Perhaps NASCAR is going the way of televised poker. Just like a business, big peaks are often followed by deep valleys.
"You couldn't race anybody". It would seem the ideal setup for drivers to showcase their "abilities" would be to match them in identical vehicles, that way those with superior skills would excel. Just shows how ridiculous oval track racing really can be.

April 26, 2007, 2:48 p.m.Nascar is one long commercial with a few wannabe racing snips inserted.
And to think, just a few years ago Nascar said they don't want to be like IROC...how things change...Yawn.

April 26, 2007, 3:25 p.m.How about if real cars were used? You know, like it really used to be. Take a manufacturers car, strip it down, put a roll bar in it, seat belts, and hit the track. Now those were exciting races.
Course the speeds today dictate much more safety features be incorporated into the vehicles but I for one cannot tell the difference between a Dodge, Ford, Chevy, and Toyauto as they all have the same aerodynamic look.
Oh well, progress.
BAH! HUMBUG!

April 26, 2007, 4:22 p.m.Maybe they should just invite NASCAR fans to a huge "race," then reveal that it's really gladiatorial games. Randomly select people from the audience for fights to the death. We can eliminate boredom AND a lot of the bottom end of the gene pool.

April 26, 2007, 5:08 p.m.NASCAR has become too boring. Too many rules, too many whiney prissy drivers. This "car of tomorrow" may be the death of NASCAR
