Democrat Candidates Use Private Jets - Put Convience Before Planet, Children »

Posted by: bobo-in-texas 2 years, 7 months ago

A flock of small jets took flight from Washington Thursday, each carrying a Democratic presidential candidate to South Carolina for the first debate of the political season. No one jet pooled, no one took commercial flights to save money, fuel or emissions.

The US political privileged elite...selfish, self-centered welfare recipients. All of Washington feeds from the same monetary slop bucket.

..Amazing ain't it? The Dems don't really believe in human caused global warming either. It's an Al Gore issue. When Hillary finally is the nominee, all of this "Save the Planet" b.s. will be quietly swept under the rug.

I have to be honest. When I heard this story I was very disappointed in them all.

Well, I won't defend the Dems on this one - all the politicions should act responsibliy, even if it IS their OWN campaign money they are spending.

            On the other hand -

At least the Democrats were IN the Senate session for the Iraq vote on the war funding bill.

John McCain was too busy campaigning to be present for that vote.

OH ... so the vote was not important for any of the Senators that were against it because Bush will veto it?

I'm glad McCain doesn't represent my state ...

Yes, the Dems should all be Amish and ride horse-and-buggy three thousand miles because they care about the environment.

At least they are trying to do the right thing, unlike most of the right-wing. Except for Bloomberg and Arnold who are further left on the environment then most equivalent Dem politicians.

In the end, did they lie? Did they break the law? No. Nuff said for me, for now. When they get into office, then they better keep their promises and obey their oath of office, unlike somebody we all know.

Another weak attempt of an anti-left rant.

Maybe they should rent a bus and drive around the country together as a traveling minstrel show.

All American politicians realize that the so called 'green vote' does not carry enough financial weight to have a sizeable effect on either or not they get elected and or re-elected to a political position. Global Warming is probably considered to be a passing 'pop culture phase' and as such carries no discernable 'obvious' merit. So therefore tell the plebes what they want to hear to secure their vote then move on to more politically important issues. Also, imagine if you will, the political and financial opportunities missed by flying with the average American citizen in coach or even first class on a commercial carrier ( the avg citizen has only a vote to cast not a large 'campaign contribution' to make ). And the idea that a politician is concerned about saving the taxpayer's money is absolutely hilarious. Or maybe I should say; they are saving the taxpayer's money so they, the politicians, can pocket the savings for being such frugal people.

Yeah, and the Republican candidates are gonna van-pool to their MSNBC debate on May 2nd. So spare me the whining.

Given that each candidate travels with a horde of aides, assistants, and advisors, it would not have been easy to fit them all in one plane. So it's not like they traveled in a plane by themselves. If they had and made their aides buy their own tickets, now THAT would have been wasteful.

Oh yeah, that many Democrats on one plane at one time- like that's not gonna be a target for an itchy Republiscum with a rocket launcher. Don't believe me? Think back to that bust yesterday in Georgia of the Milita with a U-Haul full of explosives.
