The days of paying for music are over, get with it people. Now singers and bands have to work for a living, make their money on ticket sales and such. About time if I do say so myself, one CD and they're set for life if it's really good. How much does a cop make, or a doctor, maybe a teacher, you get my point.

With the exception of a very few musicians at the top who make substantial incomes, the vast majority of musicians barely survive. To think that this industry "will start a wave of people power in other industries" is a pipe dream. It's not a drop in the bucket compared to oil industry or military industrial complex or high tech CEO compensation which is really out of control.

Somehow the rights of the artist needs protection. While a few have been richly rewarded, most of the money went to the industry people, not the creators. If the highly trained and inspired musician cannot market their passion and life work with the expectation that they will have any more gain than a barista or refuse collector, what's the point in doing it? What? Do it all for love? Without some higher level of compensation, the result is the low skill junk music we have now.
