Stephen Hawking lands after zero-G flight »

Posted by: TechnologyExpert 2 years, 6 months ago

World-famous physicist Stephen Hawking experienced eight rounds of weightlessness during a better-than-expected airplane flight that he saw as the first step toward a trip in space. "It was amazing," Hawking told reporters afterward, using his well-known computerized voice.

Steve Hawking is one of the more remarkable persons since Einstein. He has earned his wings.

His insights in cosmology are unique.

Our neo-con evangelists and business oriented preachers have a lot of learning to receive from Hawking.

He has made millions of humans aware of science.

Although as far as I understand Stephen is agnostic, he is closer to God than those carrying the Bible, the Koran or the Talmud under the armpit.

Paradoxes of evolution or creation after the Big Bang.

I hope for him that being free from the constraints of his disability and also from gravity made his day a truly great one.

This kinda reminds me of a Star Trek: DS9 story ... I think it was in the first season. A woman from a low-gravity planet came to DS9, and she felt most comfortable in free-fall. I recall that earlier this week Hawking said he thought free-fall would be "bliss".

To say I was "over the moon" for Mr. Hawking might be a bad pun but oh well :-)~ If ANYONE truly needs to see the the world from space, it's this guy. I wish him good luck.

Why is Hawking still alive??? Lou Gerig's disease should have killed him years ago.

There are two exceptional people in this one, Hawking himself and another visionary Sir Richard Branson who is going to make it all possible for Hawking to realize his dream.

i don't want to get too sappy about it, but i am very moved by this story. it's not just about what a great experience this was for Hawking, it's about hope for the future for all of us.

stories like this project a future where everyone is valued and can participate in exploration of the unfolding universe around us.
